First of all, let's be honest here, not many people were a fan of launching the game through battlelog. But battlelog was one of the best community hubs ever in a video game franchise, you are able to see your friends' stats, the skill division and leaderboard. And one feature I really missed was battle report, you could share it for all your friends to see. you are also able to see all players from a match in battle reports, it makes it so much easier to add friends and also flag potential hackers. I believe these features contributed at least somewhat to retaining the community of bf3 and bf4.

Secondly, bf4 is still alive today due to community servers. In fact, in Australia right now there's more bf4 servers alive than bf1. Bf1's RSP was already a major downgrade from legacy battlefields, I dunno what DICE was thinking when they didn't even plan a RSP at all for battlefield V. This game simply won't last if there's no community servers.

Thirdly, no support for clans. bf4 had platoons. bf1 had a half-broken platoon system that has never left beta. Battlefield V had no platoon at all. EA's been trying to make battlefield into the competitive scene with bf1's incursion mode and bfv's now 5v5 close quarters. but they are looking at the wrong idea. By not having a clan management system, you are literally killing the competitive community of battlefield.

Maybe they dont want you playing five year old games anymore.

There are ways to prevent that yet still have RSP.

Never during my Battlefield "career" have I ever used any of these, and I've been playing since BF 1942

You've missed out.
