Hello everyone!

We've gotten dozens of requests in the past regarding post flairs on the subreddit, to help organize posts and to allow people to sort through content on the sub. With the unveiling of the reddit redesign on new.reddit.com, we've been hesitant to apply any changes to post flairs due to the interaction between old and new reddit, and how we have the "Dev Post" and "Dev Response" flairs set up.

Well, after some recent changes, and after a bit of internal discussion regarding what post flairs this subreddit would need, we are finally ready to allow user-set post flairs on the subreddit!

When posting, you will now be able to set flair on your post. You will have the following options available to you:

  • Discussion

  • Suggestion

  • News

  • Dev Tweet/Comment

  • Bug

  • Screenshot

  • Fan Art

  • Gameplay Clip

  • Youtube/Twitch

  • Sithpost

Here is a brief description of what kinds of posts fall under which category

Discussion
For most text posts. Questions you have about the game, complaints about a class being OP, thoughts on the latest update, etc.

Suggestion
Requested changes to the game, or the subreddit. Please keep in mind that we do restrict certain "Wishlist Content", as per our rules, so please check that you are allowed to make your suggestion into its own separate post, or if you should instead just make a comment in our Weekly Wishlist Threads.

News
Official Battlefront-related news, or subreddit-related news. EA Star Wars tweets, event information, roadmap updates, any new information that isn't already on the subreddit.

Dev Tweet/Comment
Mostly self-explanatory, a tweet or a Discord/forum/social media comment from a Battlefront developer.

Please, though, try not to make separate posts for reddit comments from Devs if the post the comment is from is still active. Basic rule of thumb: if the source is still on the front page (or even a couple of pages down), most people can find the comment from the Dev Response tag and our ID10-Seeker-Droid bot. You don't need to post it on its own.

Bug
Any ingame bug you've found and are reporting. Please keep in mind that we also have a Weekly Bug Reporting thread that you can also post to.

Screenshot
Ingame screenshot. As per our rules, chat screenshots, or screenshots of personal stats such as end-of-round scores or credit amounts, aren't allowed, but any other ingame screenshot is fair game.

Fan Art
Battlefront-related fan art. Please only post your own Original Content. If you are posting someone else's art, please ask permission first, and then properly credit the author.

Gameplay Clip
A short video of you playing the game. Most v.redd.it links will fall under this description, as well as some YouTube videos.

Youtube/Twitch
For posts that link to one of your Battlefront-related videos, your Battlefront YouTube channel, or your Battlefront Twitch stream (or any stream, really, if you prefer Mixer or some other streaming service).

There may be some overlap between this flair and the Gameplay Clip flair, but the basic rule of thumb is that gameplay clips should be short. If your YouTube video is longer than a minute or two, you should use this flair instead of the Gameplay Clip flair

Sithpost
Joke posts, memes, reaction videos, what have you. This flair is to only be used during Sithpost Saturday.

"Dev Post" and "Dev Response" flairs will still behave as normal, and will overwrite whatever flair was originally set.

We currently have the subreddit set up so that users using the redesign will be required to choose a post flair before they are able to hit the Submit button on their post. Hopefully this feature will be ported over to old reddit and mobile soon, but in the meantime, users not using the redesign can add flair to their post after they have submitted it.

Please let us know if you have any questions!
