This. I only ever need to install shaders after major TUs, I update my GPU drivers, or I reseat my GPU.

I wonder why so many have the same issue then? I've tried a scan and repair in the past as well as a clean install... Doing it again rn just to be sure.

I'm definitely not player support and Modern Warfare definitely isn't a game I'm associated with but have you tried generating a new player folder? I had to do this a few months ago when something was being weird in June. You can see my zipped version here: https://i.imgur.com/ifxeeXz.png

Basically zip the "players" folder in Documents\Call of Duty Modern Warfare, delete your non-zipped folder (keep your zipped archive!), and then run the game.

If you keep that Modern Warfare folder opened you'll see the game launches as if brand-new and a new player folder is generated. You should run through the Terms of Agreement and audio settings again. A lot of your server-sider preferences will remain, but double-check to see if something didn't while your shaders reinstall (I know you don't want to read that again...). I flipped around through the menus while I waited for them to finish. Relaunching again sees me not reinstall shaders and I can progress like normal.

If this doesn't work, which would be lame, then you can at least revert back to your old preferences by deleting that new players folder and unzipping your old one. LMK how it goes as YMMV.

This is a feedback I see often, but I don't have any information to share at this time.
