I'm experiencing absolutely horrible audio while playing Cold War on my PS5. The only way I can describe it is "static" during things like explosions.
I've tried it with 3 different headsets
- Arctis 7 that I have used for years on the PS4/PS4 Pro without issue
- Arctis 7p that I went and purchased because I thought MAYBE it was an issue with the Arctis 7 and the PS5's 3d audio, even though steelseries says its compatible. (tried it wireless, and wired to Dualsense)
- A wired (USB) Monoprice Dark Matter gaming headset that I head lying around
The static/buzzing sound is there during explosions on the map in all three, it is there if I am playing the PS5 or PS4 version of Cold War. It is less prevalent if I turn 3d audio off, but it is still there...I have not tried playing the game ON my PS4 Pro, but I could try that as well
Edit: I do not hear any issues when playing on my PS4 Pro...additionally, What I did hear while playing the first game on the PS4 Pro, high pitched ear ringing sound which I do not remember having heard at all while playing on PS5
The only other games I have installed on the PS5 are Modern Warfare and Astro's Playroom. I did not hear any kind of audio issues with either of those games...
I tried playing some multiplayer through my vizio soundbar and I could not hear the static sound during explosions, so that leads me to believe its not part of the sound design...
Has anyone experienced anything like this?
