I'm afraid there isn't anything to do if the game isn't recognizing the file anymore. Most likely the save has been corrupted, which is why the game doesn't see it anymore. Do you only have the one? Any older versions or autosaves would be worth a try here.
While it won't help you now, I do recommend always making new saves when you save. I add a number at the end, so I have CityName1, CityName2, CityName3 and so on. That way, you have multiple versions of the same city, so if a file corrupts (which sadly happens from time to time), then you only lose some progress and not the whole city.
