Is this just this one saved game? Or any new one you might start too?

If just the one, was is started under the current 3.0 patches, or earlier ones?

What actual temperatures are you seeing please?

And please look in Windows Event Viewer at the few minutes leading up to one of these events - any significant errors or warnings?

DXDIAG is a program you run from the Windows search box on the task bar. After running it will open a window and start collecting info with a progress bar in the lower-left corner. When it completes click the 'save all information' button and save it to a file then attach that file here.

rooksa1 said: Same Problem here. Can't play longer than a few minutes before the game crashes. Disabled all mods. Error log shows stuff like this:
That looks like a bug or corrupt installation or mods - disabling mods does not remove effects they have already had on the save game file.

If you delete that log, disable all mods and start a new test galaxy, and play until it crashes again, what does the log file look like then?

I don't know what in WIndows causes that c0000409 error we see in dxdiag there. I take it HOI4, CK2 and Imperator all work fine?

What happens if you exit the Steam app entirely and run stellaris.exe from File Explorer directly?

And, can you make another user on this machine, log into Windows as that, and see if it has the sam eproblem?

From your Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/logs/ folder, attach system.log , error.log .

Pretty hard to see how Steam could cause this. If you run stellaris.exe directly from the Steam-Stellaris folder with File Explorer, does it work or fail still?

2021-04-19 19:46:17 [repository] [WARNING] Error in response: Get : signing TTL received is too close to current time (threshold of 60 sec)
Your machine is not on good internet time, which confuses our servers. In the Time&Date control panel make sure Set Time Automatically is ON, then hit Sync Now then run the game from Steam.

Most likely that will fix it, but if not please do the clean reinstall above again.

Good luck!

Please update your existing thread rather than make a second one on the same topic, thanks. I've merged them now.

I have not come across solid reports of issues with that card, but I'm not really across the hardware world these days. Did you try the nVidia forums?

The other thing that might cause that is overclocking, any of that going on?

Oh, this is only happening in MP play, is that right? If so that looks very much like a bug rather than anything we can tweak here in tech support.

Please do a full **clean** re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere, and user_empire_designs.txt from /Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris/ if you have made any custom empires or races.
- "uninstall" in Steam-Stellaris
- manually delete both the Steam/SteamApps/common/Stellaris AND Documents/Paradox Interactive/Stellaris folders
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.
- add stellaris.exe to the exceptions list of your antivirus app; ESPECIALLY if you have Windows Defender, add it to the Ransomware "Apps Allowed Through" list.
- start the game with no mods active and test with a new galaxy, NOT any existing one.

In particular you need to make sure there are no files or folders left under either the Steam Stellaris or Documents Stellaris locations, before installing again.

Good luck with that!

He may have some Steam ports blocked:

Required Ports for Steam - Steam Support

Article "Required Ports for Steam" support.steampowered.com
The best way to test that is for all players to switch to the crossplay game version in the Steam Betas tab for this game (or if any problem, the stellaris_test version there). That uses paradox MP services instead of Steam's.

This is within a game, while playing a galaxy, is that right?

If so, any mods involved? Is it in a new galaxy, or a save game from before the 3.0 patch?

Saves from the 2.8.x patches are not 100% compatible with the 3.0.x patches. If this was not an Ironman save, please revert to 2.8.x in the Steam Betas tab for this game, and load the last save written under that version.

Good luck with that!

We do not want you to do that! I'm sure it will be fixed for free in the next patch.

English only in these forums please.

Please try this:

- exit the Steam app entirely
- uninstall Paradox Launcher v2 from the Windows "Apps and features" utility, if still present.

Delete the following folders if still present:

- C:/users//AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
- C:/users//AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
To see the AppData folder you'll need to enable View Hidden Items in File Explorer.

- run steam.exe as the Windows Admin user

- run the game from the PLAY button in Steam

IF that doesn't help, in this folder are some .log files:
C:/users//AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
Please attach them here.

Are any of you running an MP "helper" app called Gamefast? That causes this problem to our games, you need to unload that

Sorry, is this crash on trying to start the game itself? On trying to start a new galaxy? Or on loading one existing galaxy? Or on loading any existing galaxy?
