[2019] So is it just me or this update is the worst for top players?

As a top 10k player things became much more difficult now for us, i'll explain:

This update was supposed to be progression friendly, you lose less than you gain- that's probably right if you're 4000-4600, I guess that's where the -8/+30 works but when the update dropped I was at 5250 (after a big tilt) and I was still losing 25-27 which is almost the same as before.

So now, leagues became much harder to reach as they pushed everything a lot higher, yet still we lose the almost the same. that's really really lame, it seems like Ultimate Champion is mission impossible now - if I had to push to 6400 (my PB is 6130) now I have to push to 7000 (WTF)

If they didn't want to hurt us that much, the 8/30 model should be kept until about 6000 (eq of the old 5400) and let us push the last 1000 normally.

Not to mention, the badges downgrades or the face that now you reset a lot lower after the season- meaning even more trophies to push now.

I'm really really disappointed, seems like all they wanted is for the lower-mid range players to be happy without thinking about top players too.

Redditors here saying, work harder as it is easier to progress now basically don't understand how leagues work. I know people who are top 1000 rank with champion badge. Now they get downgraded to master 3 badge. That's even worse. People worked hard for their badges. You shouldn't just take away as you deem fit. It's just ridiculous.

I'll be replying to this 'properly' (with the thoughts behind the change etc) soon.

My initial response however is that we are hoping the changes that we have made will allow players to push further than their previous highest Trophies - it is still only the first day of the update so it may seem like a daunting task but I do totally sympathise that it is not ideal when you lose something that you have worked hard for, even if you can get it back.

This is something we have been discussing in the team as well - my personal feedback after reading these comments was that we could have added Leagues on to the top rather than move around the current existing Leagues. That doesn't change the current situation though - but I just wanted to let you know tthat I have passed this feedback on and will be providing another response soon with reasoning etc.
