Coming in the June update, players will be able to earn Crowns and chests through Events.

You will be able to earn Crowns through playing Events and chests from winning Events.

Events are the three main game nodes in the Events Tab.


  • Our goal was to separate the core gameplay of Clash Royale, Trophy Road and Path of Legends, from the casual Events but we clearly made a misstep. You earn Crowns and chests here, and you earn Season Tokens here!
  • We didn’t want to put all of the focus on playing Events, even if you did not want to necessarily play them, just because it gave you a better way to grind progress.
  • By separating the new Season Tokens and Crowns we thought this would make the new Season Shop and currency easier to understand.

it also depends on your king level & arena, if you are away for a long time but low level, you will still get the gold.

we haven't changed the welcome back gift!

but we do have several 'thresholds' depending on how long a player has been away from the game, what king level they are, and what arena they are in.

the longer they are away, the better welcome back gift the player will get.

OP's 2500 gold is the lowest level of welcome back gift, which means they weren't away from the game for very long.

hey all,

for clarity, these changes were only made over others because they can be done with a maintenance break.

items such as gaining crowns from the event tab, or even something that sounds 'easy to fix' (but isn't) like the Play Again button being added back to 2v2, will require a mandatory update.

these updates takes a lot longer to put together and release as there are a bunch of submission guidelines and more extensive testing involved with an update.

we still have no ETA on when or if we are doing an update before our next scheduled one in June, but we will keep you informed.

i am being quiet on this subreddit currently because without any actual changes coming to the game all i can offer are empty words, which does nothing to help the situation.

i understand that saying "we are working on it" or "i have passed this on to the team" x100 isn't what you want to hear, but it's the only answers i have at the moment.

i will be more communicative when we have actual changes to share.

Adding lv 15 is the same as taking away a level from every card. The fun part of there game isn’t grinding for cards, it’s playing the game. When you are underleveled, it limits your ability to play the game strategically.

The problem with the new pass is that it’s not enough value for the money and the free and gold passes are both objectively worse. Also Diamond isn’t good enough to justify a 140% increase in cost.

You need to go back to your team and explain that less value for more cost is bad business. If you keep your community happy, they will happily pay for things but right now you’re driving the game into the ground by pissing off your most loyal customers.

We would rather have new cards, better clan wars, and tons of cool cosmetics than all these little updates that are just cash grabs.

i know players aren’t happy about pass royale changes, but sometimes these decisions have to be made. i explain the reasoning in the price change article (here if you haven’t read it].

i also agree that the game needs more fresh content and fresh gameplay, and can guarantee that is coming in our summer update.

Not that you care - all you guys care is about your millions. There hasn't been any game content in years besides adding the 5 champions, phoenix and the banners.

i’d like to just address this post to say that the reddit mods and owners of this sub do not work for supercell, and they’re taking a lot of abuse because of that misunderstanding.

obviously personal attacks and toxicity are not welcome in any community but please do not take out your frustration on the hardworking mods of this sub.

i also don’t agree that siloing all feedback into one place and closing threads is a great plan to help the community frustration, but it makes their lives easier and it also allows us to check one place for feedback, so i can see the merit.

this is an interesting idea. however it would take like a large overhaul of… everything?

but it’s definitely an interesting concept. maybe you could earn cards for each battle played with them, sorta like boosters in marvel snap.

Comparison: COC and CR are both progession based games. You know why COC players never feel bad when a new town hall is released? It is because, after the new town hall is released, the overall time taken to be completely maxed is kept same as before it was released. CR players get frustrated because every new level released, the time required to max out keeps on increasing.

Solution: With the new level, you should increase/decrease the rewards/cost in such a way that it doesn’t just keep on adding the amount of time needed to max out.
