Greetings Call of Duty: Mobile Community! This week we may not have a massive weapon balance update to discuss, but we do a significant amount of news and Season 3: Tokyo Escape releases! Before we jump into anything this week, a huge thank you to everyone who left over 1000 responses after that last update. A significant amount of effort went into sharing that information ahead of the update, so we appreciate the interest, discussion, and feedback around that content. Those weapon balance changes will be releasing in our next update, which is coming later in May!
First thing first, earlier this week we shared a new Season 3 operator highlight trailer that our team tackled with a creative style we've never tried before. S3 in general has been a blessing of creative options thanks to the strong possibilities that come with feudal Japanese aesthetics. Please take a look at this gorgeous, dark, and powerful artistic approach:
Today we have plenty of Season 3: Tokyo Escape content to discuss, whether it is the mode Swords & Stones, the now available Renetti pistol, a new legendary version of Mace, the Public Test Build or the return of Battle Royale’s Tank Battles mode. The two new seasonal challenges this week provide options are focused respectively on BR or MP, so fans of each mode can engage in these extra challenges in order to earn more BP XP and items. Let’s jump into that all below!
Thanks to 30K+ players for joining this test build over the last week and since then we’ve updated our Android download links with a new version. It has roughly the same content so need to download if you are already in the build, but for anyone wanting to join still please do so ASAP since the test build will be ending soon!
Here are all of the details below:

As per usual, please use the in-game survey to give us your feedback about the new map, weapon balance changes, and of course Clan Wars feature! These surveys matter and are reviewed directly by the teams working on those features or changes before we submit the final build for our next release later this month. A huge thank you to everyone who has taken the time to help with these tests and we’ll see kind of content we’ll be testing next time around 😉

This week’s events are primarily focused on Season 3, but we do have some other topics to bring up as well, like the next update, Season 4, and competitive events. First, we’ll start with a mode updated just for this season’s theme of katana wielding samurai and ninja.
Swords & Stones
This updated version of the long-standing Sticks & Stones Multiplayer mode brings katanas to the hands of all who join in the battle! Swords & Stones is essentially melee and grenades only, but with a touch of Cranked mode and with the Operator Skill - Sparrow available to acquire from care packages. Cranked rings a little bit of extra intensity to the mode, since it is about fighting, keeping that kill streak going, and making sure you don’t implode due to idleness.
Alongside this mode comes an event of the same name! There are 10 different tasks for this event all tied to Sticks & Stones Mode and for completing those tasks you can earn weapon XP, credits, the M4 – Paper Star, Sticker – Street Trouble and more. Take up the sword and check it all out in-game now!
Mace – Final Guard
It isn’t common we have a legendary quality operator entering the fray and to be exact this is the second time we have released one with the menacing, armored, and deadly Mace – Final Guard. This operator first appeared in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and was originally assisting Makarov in launching the EMP attack, but Mace ended up turning on him and subsequently was captured by Ghost. You may have seen Mace’s story told in our comics, found under the Battle Pass section, and you can expect to see more of him soon!
Like Dark Nikto before him, this legendary operator comes as a part of a draw (the Forged Steel Draw) and independently of that has a variety of unique qualities tied just to Mace – Final Guard. Just for acquiring Mace – Final Guard you’ll also receive a unique scorestreak camo, a holographic kill counter in the form of a wrist device, a wingsuit, and custom loot bot (upon death) in Battle Royale.

You can find Mace – Final Guard alongside a variety of other items, including the first Renetti pistol blueprint, in the Forged Steel Draw! This will be live for a few weeks, so make sure to check it out and see if you are interested in bringing a legend into your roster.
Call of Duty – Mobile Esports Content
We launched our Call of Duty: Mobile Esports YouTube channel back in early April and as a part of that launched we claimed that unique content and events would be coming soon. Over the past week we’ve shared a first glimpse at some of those with Bobby Talks, our first ever talk show, Duo Drop In, and the announcement of Call of Duty: Mobile - Masters. We’ll share a bit about each of those below, but first we’d like to address some feedback we’ve been seeing in response to tournament announcements.
We've seen many passionate inquiries recently about our Call of Duty: Mobile competitive events and tournaments in all regions. This year, there are multiple ways that players can secure a spot to the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2021 Presented by Sony. This includes out of game tournament opportunities for specific regions globally such as Call of Duty: Mobile - Masters, with more on the way. Keep an eye out for more news on those competitive events and others coming throughout 2021 as we roll out participation information for other markets worldwide**.**
Now, for some quick snippets about recent announcements, events, or content:
- Call of Duty: Mobile Masters – This new tournament is a semi-invitational program where 16 teams from North America and Europe battle it out in their respective regions over a period of five weeks for a grand prize total of $100,000! This unique competitive event will also allow the top teams to qualify for this year’s Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship.

- Duo Drop In – This is our first ever BR Duo Challenge and casted by Kvleofficial, Ferg, and Maven. Many top Call of Duty: Mobile creators have answered the call and joined in this Battle Royale challenge to see who can take home the title of BR Champion. We’d love to share that here directly, but it is over 2 hours of juicy competition and can only be found on our Esports channel. Check it out and see what 150,000 other players have already tuned into see!
- Bobby Talks – We have been honored to have creator BobbyPlays join us on our Call of Duty: Mobile Esports YouTube channel for our first talk show. In the first episode Bobby is joined by Godzly and NoahFromYouTube to talk Season 3 while playing matches and cracking jokes. More episodes are on the way, so please head on over the channel, check out the video, let us know what you think of the new type of video content in the comments or in the general community.
We’ll have plenty more coming throughout May, June, and the rest of 2021! We’ll do our best to call out any major moments for any fans of competitive events or content in updates like this, but for the latest keep an eye on that new YouTube channel and our social channels.
Seasonal Challenges
Two new seasonal challenges have dropped this week and one provides everyone with the long-awaited secondary weapon, the Renetti! This intriguing pistol has a fast fire rate with high recoil, but that recoil is easily managed with controlled bursts and careful aiming**.** The Renetti, like most pistols, is best paired with weapons that have long reloads, slow rates of fire, or generally low ammo. Take a look at this new pistol in action below and read on for information on how to acquire the Renetti and more:

Quick Hands
This seven-part seasonal challenge mostly revolves around showing your skill with other pistols, like MW-11 or J358. Some tasks simply require kills with pistols, some require using specific attachments, and some require some precision with headshot kills. - (Uncommon) Knife – Paper Star
- (Rare) Spray – Dragon Delight
- (Rare) Avatar – Mecha
- (Rare) ICR-1 – Birthstone
- New Functional Weapon – Renetti
Royale Fanatic
This six-part seasonal challenge is a far different affair that is focused completely on Battle Royale! The tasks are a bit general with options to just complete matches, make it the top places, or just survive for 25 minutes in total. If you manage to complete those tasks you can reel in 14,000 Battle XP, some credits, weapon XP cards, and the following:
- (Uncommon) Mechanic – Paper Star
- (Uncommon) Clown – Paper Star
- (Uncommon) Boat – Paper Star

- (Rare) HVK-30 – Birthstone
Credit Store Update
For the last credit store update it was we had a variety of weapons and operators available to grab (plus an Operator Skill), while this time around it is all about accessories, Thermite, and a new epic weapon blueprint! Here are the basics and prices for everything in this update:
- (Uncommon) M4 – Color Process
- (Uncommon) Sticker – Cleaved
- (Rare) Charm – Sushi
- Functional Grenade - Thermite
- (Epic) DR-H – Revolt
500 Million Downloads
The last topic we have today to talk about, before Feedback and Bug Reports, is just this massive milestone! 500 Million Downloads is no small feat and we are greatly appreciative of the support we’ve had since our original launch in 2019. That seems like ages ago now and we’ve released over 15 seasons of content since then, a variety of huge updates, and over 100 of these community updates. It has been a pleasure and we still have so much more planned for future of Call of Duty: Mobile!
Feedback
Throughout the last week we’ve seen a variety of different feedback coming in, some of which is specific to Season 3 while others are more general about the game itself or future releases. For future releases, it is often hard to share that information early unless it is something that is surprisingly 100% locked in and complete already at this point and time. However, please always feel free to ask since even if we can’t respond with information we are always sharing info and feedback back to our wider team. Here is what we’ve got for this week:
- Accessible Sword – Since Season 3 launched there has been a frequent request for some form of free sword. We made a mistake originally and said there was one coming in a credit store update, but it turned out to be an error and we apologize. Since then, our teams have been looking for a good opportunity to provide a free/earnable path to a Hachi through seasonal challenges or events. Since everything is locked in advance we have yet to been able to find a way to do that, but we are still working towards that goal and hope to help with this request.
- Next Update – As many of you have noted from the in-game timers, this next update should be coming in a just a few more weeks! To confirm, that is also when the weapon balance changes are coming alongside a wide variety of other content. Some features in the test build may be available on the launch of this update, but as per usual the test build content isn’t exclusive to most immediate update and may be coming out later.
- Unique Helmets/Body Items – If you’ve been in the community for a while you may from time to time to see conversations about these mysterious equipment slots in-game. We’ve had these used to some capacity once before for a Firebreak variant, but we plan to utilize these again in the next update! We’ll share more about that then.
- For You Feature – Since we’ve released this feature we’ve seen a lot of general positive feedback about it (thank you all for that) and also inquiries about future updates. We should be seeing new updates to this alongside our next release/update. We’ll specify those in our release post then, so just keep an eye out for that update in a few weeks!
- Weapon Balance Changes – While we shared last week was extensive, it was not at all the full list of weapon balance changes coming in the next update. We are going to wait on answering more questions about “is X weapon being buffed or nerfed” until that information is first shared through the patch notes coming alongside that update.
-
China Build vs Global Build – We talk about this pretty often and we understand some players are frustrated at not seeing what they deem as clear improvements or good features coming from the China build to the Global build, but since this conversation picked up we haven’t had a major update release. We do already plan to bring over some features or changes to the Global build in this next major update release this month and in the update after that.
- However, we are not adopting all changes/differences. There are some features or implementations that we prefer to keep in each respective build. That may be hard to explain and convey to the community, but we’ll try to surface it and highlight it whenever possible. For now, just check back in with this next update to see what has crossed over.
Bug Reports
This week most of our bug reports are about recent Season 3 specific issues, but for a look at others that are still ongoing or are planned to be fixed in this next update please refer to one of our previous community updates that went over a list of those issues. For now, here are a fewer newer issues:
- Monthly Calendar Bug – We’ve had an issue with Day 6 of the daily login monthly calendar not being claimable. We put out a fix a while back that should have fixed this all for all players as long as you’ve continued to login for six additional days. However, if you are still seeing this issue please do reach out!
- In-Game Text Issues – We had a few reports that after a hotfix last week various languages were seeing incorrect text popping up in different parts of the UI, lobby, and elsewhere. Our teams have fixed this issue and thank you to everyone who quickly brought it up and gave excellent examples of what was occurring.
- Radioactive Agent Redemption: Warzone Tokens – The last batch of these tokens should be on the way soon and the event has officially ended except for those still looking to claim their operator. We’ll be keeping an eye out for any reports of missing tokens, but please make sure to utilize our support options below for this one since those teams are better equipped to gather your info and escalate it up to the right teams who can check & fix this.
Support Options
We still regularly reach out to community areas for info on issues or feedback, but don’t hesitate to reach out to our support channels as well if you ever need help, especially with anything specific to your account, like purchasing issues or account issues. Here are our main support channels:
- In-game support chat
- Player Support Website: Contact Us
Earlier this week we did our Community Takeover event on our social media channels where we share fun content, fan art, or player creations that are usually season specific. Instead of doing a single community highlight this week we figured we would pull in some of those Community Takeover highlights to give a quick shout-out to multiple community members! First, we have a throwback to one of our very first community highlights, an artist many of you may know – Narchi.
Narchi created a variety of operator headshots this season for Zero – Escape, Hidora Kai – The Boss, and others! We have always appreciated their skill in highlighting and showing their love of new operators, and it just made sense that they would end up as a highlight during the takeover. You can find more Narchi’s art over on Instagram: instagram.com/narchiartwork/
The second artist we’d like to highlight is Angel_Piicaso, someone who does hand-drawn character pieces that are hard not to appreciate. We’ve unsurprisingly highlighted them twice now (once in a previous takeover event) and this time around they tackled Spectre – Ninja. Nailed it right?
The details, the theming, and the colors are all fantastic. If you’d like to check out more, they have several other Call of Duty related drawing over on their Twitter: twitter.com/angel_piicaso
Lastly, we are going to switch up and instead focus on a player who channeled their inner ninja and dominating with a katana in-hand and throwing axes ready to fly. EightRemorseYT shared a clip for this takeover of them playing Hardpoint on Shoot House while showing they are skilled with both of these weapons. Take a look at that clip below and find their original post here: twitter.com/eightremorseyt/status/1389245917455339522
We have no way to follow-up on those great pieces of art and that impressive gameplay, so we’ll end the community update here for this week. However, since it is only a few weeks ago that means it is nearly time to start our teasers for the next season of Call of Duty: Mobile 😉. Keep an eye out for that this weekend and see you all again for more soon; take care and stay safe!
