Greetings Call of Duty: Mobile Community! We’re back with a community update focused almost purely on events, modes, and more of the usual affair that we share with you week by week. However, this is a larger than normal update today because our team will be unable to share one next week. So, consider this your two-week community update!

Before we jump in, here’s a look at one our recent videos that is all about David Mason – Enforcer. One new type of video content we’ve been creating this season is focused around highlighting new operators that release throughout the season, whether it is Gunzo, Ether, or now David Mason.

If you haven’t already, check out the Season 1: New Order Battle Pass and see what kind of rewards you’ve been accumulating on the premium side. That’s one of the best parts of the BP in any game, you can always jump in mid or late season to acquire a variety of premium content instantly assuming you’ve been playing regularly and leveling up that Battle Pass via Seasonal Challenges, events, or through playing any MP or BR matches.

One reason we are bringing up the Battle Pass now, we are about to have our first teasers for Season 2 release into the world this weekend! While Season 2 may still seem far away, with its March release date, there is only a few weekends left until we are ready to share it all with you. Keep an eye out on our social channels as we start to share details about that content each weekend. For now, let’s jump into the update and go over everything coming in the next two weeks.

As we’ve been doing all season long, there is a mix of Battle Royale, MP Playlists & Modes, and events releasing throughout the week. Through all of that you can acquire credits, Battle Pass XP, weapon XP cards, new operator skins, a BR Class, and of course the brand-new SKS! There is plenty to dive into, but what will you focus on and complete first?

Seasonal Challenges
The last of the Seasonal Challenges for Season 1 have arrived and now you can complete all seven of them! Throughout those challenges you can receive an epic weapon blueprint, 10s of thousands of Battle Pass XP, a new tactical grenade, dozens of camos, and now the new functional weapon – the SKS. This is the second Marksman Rifle to arrive in CODM and it is a fast firing (at least compared to the Kilo -Bolt Action) way to tackle mid-to-long range engagements.

BR Buff
This eight-part Seasonal Challenge, as you might expect, is entirely focused around completing tasks in Battle Royale. These various tasks consist of everything from using certain BR Classes to taking out enemies with an Annihilator (available only from Airdrops). For doing all of this you can grab a bit of BP XP of course, but also the following the rewards:

  • (Uncommon) Scout – Warp
  • (Uncommon) FHJ-18 – Warp
  • (Rare) ORV – Trance
  • (Common) New Marksman Rifle - SKS

New BR Class – Desperado
This is your class if you’ve ever played Multiplayer and wanted the Shield Turret scorestreak but in Battle Royale! With Desperado you can drop a stationary Shield Turret with unlimited ammo and unleash a rain of bullets on your enemies. This turret offers protection, but observant players will quickly find the vulnerabilities in that defensive shield.

However, all classes come with a passive perk and for Desperado we’ve brought back a Call of Duty classic – Last Stand. This old school perk used to make people rage quit back in the days of the original Modern Warfare (2007) due to how often it will surprise people. With Last Stand, you’ll pull out a pistol when you are downed and if you manage to take out an enemy in this state then you’ll revive yourself. Check it all out below:

Battle Royale Blitz
The newest Battle Royale mode is back once again and for the last time in Season 1: New Order! We’ll still have other BR modes coming, like Warfare the following week, but if you missed out on Blitz the first time then make sure to try it out now. A quick recap for anyone who missed it in our first update of Season 1, but Blitz is a fast-paced version of your usual classic Battle Royale.

You’ll drop into a smaller area of the map that is jam packed with supplies and on top of watching out for enemies you’ll have to keep an eye on the circle since it will be closing far quicker than normal. This mode is meant to give you a shorter, faster, and more action-packed alternative. Try it now until February 25th!

Attack of the Undead 20
The fan-favorite of Attack of the Undead is getting an upgrade! You heard about it on season launch when we revealed the existence of this mode variant, but for anyone unfamiliar Attack of the Undead 20 pushes you to bigger maps with more players. You will now have not only more allies to band together with against the swarm, but you’ll have (potentially) more undead swarming the map.

This mode comes alongside the Undertakers Storm: Swarm event! This event is just an excuse to give you various rewards while playing Attack of the Undead 20. Just by playing the associated playlist you’ll start earning rewards like the MW11 or M4LMG - The Numbers on top of a calling card, sticker, and Purple XP Card. Simple, right? So just get out there and try your best to survive against the swarm!

India Cup Pro
Back in December we announced that we were participating in an India Cup Pro with the Esports group Loco organizing it. The tournament ended a short while ago and with Team Mayhem taking first place! Coming up in second S8UL and in third Heroes Official. Congratulations to all of the top teams!

You may remember Team Mayhem as a top contender in the Other region for the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2020 and with the India Cup Pro they’ve shown once again that they have what it takes to rise to the top! Keep an eye out for more CODM competitive events and thanks to everyone who supported this tournament.

Pestilence Draw
Every time we release a new functional weapon, like the SKS or FR .556, we have a way for you to earn it for free through an event or the BP, and a premium option available through the form of an epic or legendary blueprint. As we covered above in the Seasonal Challenges section, we have the new Marksman Rifle the SKS releasing today and through the Pestilence Draw you can find the first-ever blueprint of this classic rifle!

This legendary SKS blueprint is dubbed the Particle Splitter, both for its futuristic design but also because when you take out enemies it folds them into the fabric of existence. If you have no ide what we might mean by that, then don’t worry since we have a nifty video ready to show that effect off! Check it out along with the new Witch Doctor – Wrong Medicine:

Valentine’s Day Event
In our last community update we had mentioned that we planned for a Valentine’s Day event to drop on our official social media channels and in collaboration with many others. Unfortunately, we ran into last minute issues with executing and releasing this event.

However, we are determined to find a new time similarly appropriate to launch a similar event in Season 1 and we’ll share about that once we lock down a new plan. Don’t worry, we still always find a way to give out items to you all 😉

Feedback
Instead of bringing back new feedback this week, we are going to highlight and reference where you can find information on feedback topics we’ve covered since the Season 1 launch. We are doing this for both feedback and bug reports since we are seeing the same questions asked every week, sometimes even during the week we covered that topic in the community update. Instead, here is a list and a quick synopsis of each:

  • (Feb 12th) Do Not Disturb or Hidden Feature – No news, but it is a known request.
  • (Feb 5th & 12th) China Version Content – China version content is subject to significant analysis before anything is added to the Global version.
  • (Feb 5th & 12th) Cheater Reports – Our Security & Enforcement teams are monitoring and updating anti-cheat to combat new cheaters, just like normal. No unusual issues noticed.
  • (Feb 12th) Prestige or Additional Levels – No news, but we are acutely aware of this request.
  • (Feb 12th) Next Ranked Series – Coming alongside the next season and major update!
  • (Feb 5th) Voice Overs – Many are coming in the next update and we are doing more to call-out, share, and make these releases known.

  • (Feb 5th) Season 2 Info – Like we mentioned earlier, this is finally starting to come as of this weekend! Almost there everyone.
  • (Jan 26th) Improvements & Optimizations – This is where you can find various balance and weapon changes that were made at the launch of the season.

Bug Reports
Just to continue off of Feedback, this is also a list of every bug report we’ve addressed or brought up in the last several community updates. However, please note that we always have many other smaller issues being investigated and worked on in the background. Our team just tries to capture some of the most commonly discussed ones in the community.

  • Various Event Issues – Throughout these updates we’ve also had several fixes go out thanks to quick reports from players about tasks not tracking correctly. We don’t always highlight these in community updates but thank you for reporting these and often so quickly after they release!
  • (Feb 19th) Account Issues – If you are running into problems with your ATVI/COD account, like you lost access, something failed to purchase, or anything account related please reach out to our Activision support teams mentioned below. They are equipped to assist.
  • (Feb 19th) Takeoff Glitch – We aren’t going to go into details on this one, but we are investigating a new map glitch on Takeoff.
  • (Feb 12th) Public Test Build Fixes – Certain aspects of the public test build are not features but actually bugs, like several movement related changes seen there.
  • (Feb 12th) ICR-1 - Forced Laughter Sound – We are aware that this weapon’s death effect is not properly emitting sound effects. Investigating.
  • (Feb 12th) Peacekeeper MK2 - Artifact Death Effect – We are aware of this issue and working on a fix, which will hopefully be coming soon.
  • (Feb 12th) Cluster Smoke Grenade in BR – We are still working on reproducing the issue with smoke intermittently not working. If you experience this issue please report it to our teams.
  • (Feb 12th) ADS Weapon Issues in BR – We are still investigating various issues, with some successes so far and others that are harder to reproduce. Please keep reporting them!
  • (Feb 12th) Eject Bug in BR – This is a long-term issue we’ve tried to reproduce multiple times with no successful attempts. Similar to the others, please report this if you have info.
  • (Feb 12th) Desync – This is a long-term issue and challenge that we’ve been trying to improve through various methods, like improving or adding servers.
  • (Feb 5th) Black Screen Issues – We’ve seen some improvements on this front in S1, but we plan for more improvements and fixes in Season 2 since that also comes alongside a major update.
  • (Feb 5th) Blitz Mode Performance – We don’t have any specific fixes for making these high player count modes perform better, but some upcoming general performance improvements should help and please experiment with adjusting graphical settings.
  • (Feb 5th) General BR Bugs – We’ve been observing, reporting, and investigating a large variety of smaller bugs specific to Battle Royale throughout Season 1. Just a thanks again to the community members who have spent a significant amount of time reporting these!

We know we have this here every update and we’ll still continue to do so since we get requests every week that our community team cannot directly assist with. We are back with another community highlight this week and one that is once again focused on creative weapon designs for CODM! Player Šeøul (community name Klausable7) has been experimenting with and sharing weapon designs for just about a month. In that time they’ve created about 10 designs, covering everything from recent Valentine’s Day style designs to the ever-popular Orbit design.

HBRa3 - Orbit

One thing we’ve loved to see about their designs, like comparing their first AK117 – Orbit Design to this HBRa3 variant, is just how much they’ve managed to make the weapons look brand-new instead of camo reskins or variants. On top of that, we can’t help but appreciate and support their skills that have clearly grown over that month.

AK117 - Woodland Camo

Not only do we clearly feel they’ve grown, but so does the community as we’ve seen their posts gain more and more upvotes with this stellar QXR – Survival of the Fittest post being their first to break that 1K upvotes milestone.

We hope to see plenty more of Šeøul’s designs in the future and we’ll be keeping an eye out for more art, designs, unique posts, and anything worth highlighting in these updates. Thank you all for supporting them and for supporting each other in your creative efforts!

Just to reiterate what we said earlier in this update, but there will not a community update next week. Our team will still be around throughout the week to respond to posts, threads, tweets, and all of the usual while cracking stupid jokes or using far too many 😉 emotes. Heya, we've seen a few pop up specifically for Attack of the Undead but to your point they are likely ones that existed prior and we just weren't aware of them. Either way, we are looking into several now and hopefully they can be quickly hotfixed.

No worries, we know from experience stuff like that is extremely frustrating to run into since it just immediately ruins that match. Usually anything that directly impacts gameplay like that gets high priority on our hotfix list, so hopefully there is an easy solution. However, there are several spots on the map we are looking at so we are just trying to identify them first before trying anything.

Greetings and thanks for the kind sentiment conveyed in your first sentence, we are doing alright . However, we are afraid for your first two questions we don't have any news to share about changes to the melee system or new weapon types coming.

We have seen new camos for pre-existing weapon types, like bats and katanas, coming in upcoming seasons but no entirely new types (so far). We'll try to keep an eye out for that in S2 though and call it out if we can.

For your third question, we have been considering Ranked mode changes to maps and modes, but the team hasn't decided on anything we can share back just yet. However, we do have a new Ranked Series coming in this next update and there will likely be some changes alongside that.

Lastly, for the 3tap AR's we have seen the comments and sentiment around them being overpowered here in the community, but we aren't sure if that is something our developers who handle weapon balance & design are considering. We are already planning to check in with them about that as soon as we can.

Greetings! We are afraid we don't have answers for all of that, but thanks for asking and here are some quick responses:

  • We just reported this one up to the teams today (the settings issue), so it is currently being investigated as we speak.
  • We have seen some actual bugs where some iron sights would be misaligned, which would then report over and the team would end up correcting. Are you saying they are not aligned in the sense that the shots are not landing where the sight is displaying or guiding you to?
  • We have the equivalent occasionally for Ranked Mode, but we haven't had any equivalent to Double Player XP or Double Weapon XP for CODM. At the moment there are no plans to implement those types of bonus/boost events.
  • Could you grab a video or clip of this one? We have personally used that weapon a few times today and haven't noticed what you are describing, but we may just be approaching it in a more casual manner.

Greetings, yeah we didn't bring up the test server again because there hasn't been any news to share about the previous released one or another one coming up soon. We may still have another one before our S2 release, but it isn't certain at the moment.

Some of what you saw in the test server is what makes the next update a big one, but generally for every two season releases we have a big game update alongside it. That means plenty of fixes, changes, optimizations, and new pieces of content that aren't directly related to that season.

Heya, sorry to hear that is happening and that's incredibly odd since that event shouldn't have changed anything with how the game operates. It isn't connected in a way that could possibly have an effect on performance or stability, but stranger things have happened. Have you tried any troubleshooting, like just restarting the device or doing the repair option on the main login screen?

Also, to answer your other question we have seen that request for hybrid or thermal scopes plenty, especially since Season 12: Going Dark (2020), but we don't have any news to share on that front. Similarly, no major changes to Gunsmith are expected in this next release, but we know that is something people care about and are looking to share info about it whenever we can.

Hey, yeah we are constantly aware of the general size of the game and trying to find ways to reduce it. That's the main reason we added the option, with each major update, to only download certain pieces of content in order to save space.

Additionally, there are several "extra" maps that you can choose not to download as well. However, we are still looking into other ways to try to reduce the overall file size of the game while still continually adding new pieces of content.

Both weapons are aiming at what is the center of the target, but you can see that it seems as if they were aiming above, this are only 2 examples of the various weapons that have that problem, others would be the RPD, M4, M4LMG, GKS, etc, it's not all the weapons but a solid quarter of them have this problem, which can simply be fixed by repositioning the weapons view model while in ADS.

  • For the SKS bullet desync issue, here's a slowed down example (at 0:09 you can clearly see the hit on the ground way before the bullet even gets there), there are times where the desync is even more perceptible than in this example, watching it on video might not seem much but when playing, it is really distracting, and while one can get accustomed to it with time, it can be very disconcerting, moreover if you play BR where bullets do have travel time.

That does help and thank you for all of the examples. That must have taken some time to collect, so thank you for caring so much that you would be willing to do that. For the ironsights that may be something that is an intentional design difference with how our devs approached it compared to Infinity Ward, but we'll share back all the same and see if that is the case or if it is just an unintended alignment issue.

For the SKS issue, to your example and explanation that may just be part of the larger desync problem that may or may not happen to players depending on their region, how close they are to the server, the strength of that server, and their own connection stability. However, at the same time it may be something else so we'll share that as well

Greetings, we are afraid that's the first time we've heard of that happening. Do you have any examples of this occurring and details, like device and how long you or the person affected was playing the game before seeing issues?

Our logo is not something we can just flat out change unless we do have a variant that already exists. However, if this is a similar issue to old screen Plasma screens then presumably having the logo move every X number of minutes would also solve this problem.

There should only be a certain amount of the maps that auto-download while the rest are optional, but it also depends on what you've selected previously. At one point we had it resetting each major update, which sounds good on paper because then you can reselect what you want to download, but it was also an inconvenience for a lot of people who didn't want to manually go through and check what they want to download update after update. A bit of a tough balance on that one.

No you are right, it is a bit longer than average for a season and yeah that's about accurate in relation to the timing. The date may always move forward or move back a bit, depending on unforeseen changes, but it should be around that time period.

It is hard to say for specific characters until we are about to add them, since we don't always know too far in advance which exact season or update those character voices will be dropping. However, we do have a few more coming in Season 2 and we are going to specifically try to call them out in future updates.

We closed it a little while ago and are considering doing a part 2 test right now. We aren't sure yet whether or not we will do one before Season 2 release though, so just hang tight and keep an eye out for any news on that.

Heya, that's something we've been trying to balance ever since the beginning. As we add more features to the game and some graphical improvements or higher resolution characters/models/weapons/maps it gets harder and harder to maintain that balance between high end and low end players.

With all of that said, it is never far from our minds and something we already looking to improve whenever and however we can while still trying to maintain that balance between device groups. There will always be optimizations made to try to help improve performance and stability overall for all players, but some of those improvements are specifically done with low end devices in mind.

Haha, we see this every week lately after a community update and all we can say is that Russia Nuketown hasn't been around all that long yet . We just want to give it some more time before determining which to keep around or prioritize. It seems unlikely that we would have both available at the same time, but we'll see in the near future.

Heya, sorry but we can't just give those out. However, we have seen the requests and feedback about these set pieces not being available after the original draw, so we are looking into options to see if there are ways to bring back a way to complete the set with the frame.

Heya, yes usually people exploiting glitches are subject to our CODM Security & Enforcement Policy and enforcement actions appropriate with that type of action. For reference we have that all explained here: Security & Enforcement Policy

However, if you ever seen anyone exploiting glitches like that please report them. Unlike other issues, that isn't something that may automatically just get flagged unless players are reporting those exploiting these types of glitches.
