879s	live stream uh going over uh all there
882s	is to know about Age of War Chapter 4 so
887s	for those of you at home who have been
888s	following along the public beta for
890s	chapter 4 is uh now available as of
892s	actually yesterday um but we're going to
895s	be talking about things today uh so
898s	we've got a packed show today uh we're
899s	going to be going over uh all the things
903s	to uh all the things you can expect
905s	coming to you in chapter 4 uh Age of War
907s	when it comes out April 2nd um so we'll
910s	be going over a new uh seasonal event
914s	that will be introduced with this update
916s	um expansions to The Purge system uh
920s	fatality system bunch of quality of life
923s	improvements uh and of course a whole
925s	slew of uh new additions to the bizaar
928s	and the battle pass which we will be
930s	covering as much as we can today but we
932s	got a lot to cover
933s	today um before we begin do you have any
937s	four wordss or anything like that or any
939s	any any insights or anything from
940s	chapter three we gleaned or to
943s	add uh
948s	well I'm G mess around all you think
951s	yeah sure um put me on the spot Andy by
955s	the way wow oh I know I I know I really
957s	put you on the spot yeah I mean we don't
958s	have to necessar I mean I know I I like
960s	messing with you I mean every every
962s	update that we do you know there's stuff
964s	that trickles over from One update to
965s	another and um we always look at the
968s	feedback that people give about things
969s	that they liked and didn't like so we
971s	can inform ourselves going forward on
973s	you know the new stuff that we'll do um
976s	we'll touch on some of that during the
977s	stream today though so I guess I don't
979s	need to get ahead of myself and we can
981s	kind of just jump yeah yeah okay yeah
983s	yeah for
984s	sure so yeah um so let's see so yeah
987s	this is this is certainly chapter for
989s	the inclusion of chapter 4 is a um bit
991s	of a bit of a pretty pretty significant
993s	shift uh as far as like our original
995s	plans were for like the entire like Ag
997s	and chapter system um I mean basically
999s	it was just like there's a whole bunch
1001s	of stuff that we had intended to add
1003s	throughout the age and uh we're now
1006s	adding it the fourth chapter essentially
1008s	like can you give any like have we I
1010s	don't know if we've like really talked
1012s	about too much about like why chapter 4
1014s	and all that like maybe we touch on a
1016s	little bit from last stream maybe we can
1017s	go into a little bit today definitely
1019s	talk about that to a larger scale sure
1021s	am um but it was kind of two things that
1024s	came to a head at the same time and just
1026s	you know kind of gave us the realization
1028s	that hey we needed to move to four
1030s	chapters so one was that we had a lot of
1033s	stuff in chapter 3 that was mostly done
1037s	and ready to ship but not quite ready
1039s	and if we moved on to a new age it might
1041s	never see the light of
1043s	day so that was the first thing um and
1047s	the other was a shift in the way we
1050s	wanted to approach our timeline as a
1052s	development team I think I remember
1053s	talking about this because it's a lot
1055s	more of the boring stuff to hear but
1057s	basically it gives us more time to work
1059s	on the stuff that come out in certain
1061s	chapters and it'll just mean that we get
1064s	better you know deeper higher quality
1067s	things with the the chapters that
1069s	contain main releases so going forward
1072s	the first and third chapters in a a
1075s	release will typically be where you find
1077s	the bulk of the like new features new
1080s	functionality kind of stuff chapter 2
1082s	and chapter 4 will typically just be
1084s	more content that builds upon the things
1087s	that we've already uh released in
1090s	previous chapters or ages
1093s	even so you could see new events in the
1095s	event system you know new events like
1097s	the one we'll be talking about today um
1100s	you know updates things like the loot
1102s	updates and things like that uh you know
1104s	Camp placement stuff that that would all
1106s	typically fall into the uh more content
1109s	oriented chapters in in two and four
1111s	where one and three will be a lot more
1113s	about features with content MH like
1116s	sorcery for example or like purges
1118s	purges yeah yeah yeah yeah
1120s	cool well great so uh and then moving
1124s	forward I think the but I believe the
1125s	plan is yeah like we'll have we'll have
1127s	four chapters for for each age moving
1130s	forward yeah and as always I mean
1132s	anything is subject to change if we
1133s	wanted to do an age that was two
1134s	chapters we wouldn't not do that just
1136s	because we said we'll do four so um
1139s	you know
1142s	go so yeah all right so first things
1146s	first I think I'm we're just going to
1147s	jump into the content of chapor 4 so
1151s	the uh some of you we previewed a couple
1154s	of the things uh in my drunken walk
1156s	through uh through the through the intro
1158s	here I saw someone in chat commenting
1159s	about who's who's piloting it's it's
1161s	it's me I'm
1163s	sorry he's drunk I'm I'm not drunk I
1167s	promise um
1169s	but yeah so those are some of the new
1171s	like building sets and armor sets that
1173s	we'll be we'll be showing towards the
1174s	end of the stream um but yeah so one of
1176s	the first things that is new to chapter
1178s	4 is a seasonal event the secret hunt
1182s	can we talk about that yeah um I
1184s	wouldn't call it seasonal specifically
1187s	uh but it is an event that uh we
1189s	consider to be some like something of an
1191s	evergreen event so right now during this
1194s	age whenever the age comes out the event
1195s	will be active and then at some point
1197s	it'll go away and then it can come back
1199s	again um we built it using the event
1202s	system that we worked on uh whenever the
1205s	sorcery release came out so we have the
1208s	ability to create events and turn them
1210s	on and off and this will be one of those
1212s	things um it's an event with a a handful
1215s	of unique content and rewards that you
1217s	can only get while that event's
1220s	active oops sweet so we are going to
1223s	what is it the castle of Al Mariah or do
1227s	we want to show off the uh uh like the
1229s	camp and all that first let's see yeah
1231s	let's go to the go to the hub yeah yeah
1235s	yeah let's let's do it all
1243s	right ah nice yes yeah so the way this
1249s	this event kind of starts out will be
1252s	one of two ways for you it'll be either
1254s	you see the giant green beam in the sky
1257s	uh which will guide you here uh you guys
1260s	uh and gals might recognize this from
1262s	the uh
1264s	meosis Spire repurposed for this event
1267s	so anytime you see a big beam in the sky
1269s	uh you know there's probably something
1270s	to find there and uh there's another
1274s	form for this one however uh whenever it
1276s	turns
1278s	nighttime in the exiled l or syta you
1281s	can be ambushed by we hyenas and killing
1284s	those hyenas will give you a little
1287s	Satchel of rewards and probably a map as
1290s	well and the map will you know guide you
1293s	to this
1294s	location so you come here to find out
1297s	what's going on after after you you get
1299s	this you know cryptic uh Skin
1301s	Map and uh you find some people you can
1304s	speak with so we have several characters
1306s	that we worked on for this uh event that
1309s	are fully voice acted we also made a new
1312s	dialogue system uh and this this
1315s	character here is utilizing that new
1316s	dialogue system you are welcome uh tell
1319s	you about the event they will teach you
1322s	how to use some recipes for the event
1324s	that you might
1325s	need and they also give you the option
1327s	to opt out of the event so if you don't
1330s	want to be attacked by where hyenas at
1331s	night you can come here and say hey
1335s	don't at wish to leave the hunt yep you
1337s	can leave the hunt and whenever you come
1340s	back and speak with her again you can
1341s	join again and that'll just reenable
1343s	those ambushes on
1345s	you uh why you would want the ambushes
1348s	they drop teeth
1350s	um so whenever you collect those teeth
1353s	you can bring them to this vendor and
1355s	you can get a lot of different recipes
1357s	uh you can get the the things at the top
1359s	are for participating in the event so
1361s	you know we've got that war paint the
1363s	lore the potion and then the rest of the
1365s	stuff is all cosmetic and um you know
1370s	like weapon recipes
1372s	placeables so there's a lot of really
1374s	cool stuff in here that that we uh have
1378s	put into the event
1382s	M let's see so going from there once you
1385s	know that and you learn more about the
1387s	event uh she'll essentially teach you
1390s	that there are some champions in the
1391s	world um but maybe we should do a little
1393s	bit of a rewind and talk about why this
1396s	is happening in the first place
1400s	so whenever the
1403s	stigan came in the age of War and they
1406s	plowed through the world and took a lot
1409s	of people out you know leaving a lot of
1411s	bodies in their wake one of the places
1413s	that they kind of pillaged is the uh
1417s	ruins of el Mariah which was once
1419s	occupied by dogs of the desert you might
1422s	remember
1424s	and if you were to go to The Siege
1428s	trying to remember exactly where it was
1429s	sorry it's a little bit Northeast of
1431s	where you're at
1434s	um actually maybe we should use the
1436s	Tableau as the point of reference I
1438s	don't know oh yeah good they they took
1441s	out a bunch of we hyenas whenever they
1442s	came in and now some events have
1446s	transpired that have has kind of
1449s	recalled jebel's attention toward the
1452s	world because those were hyenas were
1455s	taken out and you'll be able to see that
1459s	Tableau location play out in real life
1462s	as well uh in terms of you know actually
1464s	visiting the place sorry fake real life
1466s	uh e- real life Exile lands real life
1469s	yeah so you'll see uh in in the Tableau
1472s	here um so the stigan have been defeated
1475s	that's where we left off in chapter
1476s	three right the Exiles have taken back
1479s	the ruins of el Mariah in their timeline
1482s	and uh they're they're kind of
1484s	celebrating helping each other back up
1486s	and then we move forward and
1489s	find that continuing on someone has
1493s	located a little bit of a weird entrance
1496s	you know it's like Hey where's where's
1498s	that what's oh what's this they go down
1500s	further and see that there's a cave and
1503s	then they keep going down oh they see
1505s	there's some you know scary markings on
1507s	the wall and some glowy mushrooms on the
1510s	ground and they
1513s	eventually make it to an
1515s	alter now we can find all this
1518s	underneath the the castle right can yeah
1520s	yeah so if you follow through the table
1523s	and go through to the end and and go to
1526s	um you know the actual ruin themselves
1529s	you'll be able to find that cave and
1531s	that's kind of the you know the basis
1533s	for all this starting um jbog is not
1537s	happy that his followers have been wiped
1539s	out
1541s	and oh I'm so sorry yes terribly sorry
1544s	about that and as a result uh his his
1547s	great hunt has has uh been Unleashed
1549s	upon the world so now we have all of
1551s	these people kind of like in the
1553s	midnight Grove vying for his uh his
1555s	favor right they're trying to become the
1557s	champion of jebil SG you're one of the
1559s	people that can choose to try to become
1560s	that champion so you'll go around the
1562s	map find his Champions kill them and
1565s	gather their teeth and earn his favor
1567s	gather enough teeth and you can
1569s	challenge his
1570s	ultimate
1572s	champion
1575s	and become like you know the actual
1578s	champion of jebl s and there are some
1579s	unique rewards and stuff that come into
1581s	play with that as well which I think are
1582s	really cool mhm and we also got some uh
1585s	top caliber voice Talent as well oh yes
1588s	oh yeah oh yes oh yeah all right so
1591s	finally found
1592s	it where
1597s	the where's the hole

1602s	Tableau you might see you might have
1604s	seen something to the right of the
1605s	stairs there let's figure it out

1746s	with those those characters at the camp
1747s	they'll they'll tell you that you you
1749s	essentially need to get these LS from
1750s	them um and bring them to some specific
1754s	places they'll give you hints as to
1755s	where to find those places looks like
1757s	we're probably going to show you where
1759s	some of those places are at least and uh
1761s	you know you'll bring the lore put the
1763s	lore on the Altar and then challenge the
1765s	uh the champion mhm all right of which
1769s	there are a
1771s	few so let's

1908s	go without clothes so the whole event is

2090s	um more info that's right and is this a
2093s	new interface we have it is I think
2096s	that's an entirely separate section of
2097s	our stream it is yes but just yeah for
2100s	those of you who haven't had a chance to
2102s	play on public beta yet we have some
2103s	other cool interface updates oh what's
2106s	this what the when we've done some early
2107s	previews ahead of time uh we tried to
2109s	not do the interface first and everyone
2111s	was like wait whoa whoa whoa yeah it's
2113s	like excuse me who what are the what's
2114s	going on here what are these what are
2115s	these little icons here yeah and the the
2118s	the reaction from preview EES were like
2120s	w this is great yeah so Andy killed one
2123s	Champion there's several more each of
2124s	them drops a unique uh item that's used
2127s	in a crafting
2128s	recipe that you make at that alar that's
2130s	back at the camp uh and then that gives
2133s	you the lore to fight the champion the
2136s	the
2137s	current the current champion of
2139s	heavyweight world heavyweight champion
2141s	of Jebel
2142s	SG uh and some of you may have seen them
2145s	on a little maybe a little taste of them
2147s	on social media it's the strange
2149s	creature with glowing blue eyes staring
2151s	at the camera right back at you I'm sure
2154s	there'll be uh I'm sure all our amazing
2156s	content creators already have guides on
2158s	how to how to fight the the Weir bear I
2160s	had a lot of fun last night watching
2162s	people just go through the stuff uh
2164s	trying to figure out how things work and
2166s	seeing the new mobs and freaking out and
2169s	everything yeah yeah it's all it's
2170s	always fun like the the when new stuff
2172s	comes out and you don't know what's what
2174s	exactly is around the corner that like
2175s	initial Discovery phase is like it's
2177s	just magic watching people try to figure
2180s	figure their their stuff out yeah so
2183s	okay and then is the potion of the hunt
2185s	like the big or is the Beast of regalia
2187s	the the the big one for the final boss
2189s	I'm trying to remember the potion takes
2192s	you to to the final boss yeah okay got
2195s	so this would be similar to the potion
2197s	of
2198s	midnight uh that'll take you to a new
2200s	Boss Arena we can preview it at the very
2202s	least yeah maybe I'll die

2228s	Champion lore that you can spawn oh yeah
2230s	because that's what's crafted from all
2232s	of the stuff that you uh collect from

2266s	it is time for me to okay

2278s	mob uh you know all new attacks and and

2287s	that I'm just not sure how much I should
2288s	say yeah there's some stuff hidden right
2291s	there's some stuff that we haven't shown
2292s	and and I don't I don't know if we
2294s	should out it all now or let people have
2296s	fun finding it on their own H let people
2298s	have fun kind yeah I mean it's all it's
2300s	all out there right now on the public
2301s	beta stuff too so if you if you want to
2303s	play it you can just check it out now
2304s	and it comes out for reals on April 2nd
2306s	so you just check it out yourself know
2308s	your your special stream hint can be
2310s	that we did not leave the tavern
2313s	behind yeah so you remember you know the
2316s	tavern system that we've introduced that
2317s	lets NPCs come visit your base maybe
2320s	check it out this update see what
2322s	happens you never know who might come
2324s	wandering through your door to order a
2327s	drink at your establishment and a pizza
2330s	and a
2331s	pizza with pineapple with pine I was
2336s	no
2339s	okay so that is the season or sorry not
2343s	not the correct word uh that is the
2346s	sacred hunt a new event coming to
2349s	chapter
2350s	4 uh we're not showing everything
2353s	because we want you to figure everything
2354s	out figure things out on your own but on
2356s	that note uh of course you know the
2359s	secret Hunt is about um you know the the
2362s	the spilling of blood and and the the
2364s	name of I suppose the the gr order of
2366s	things and part of the Great order of
2368s	things I think in the Conan universe is
2370s	making the blood of your enemies flow
2372s	and making heads roll and so we're
2374s	finally adding that
2377s	proper we got
2379s	fatalities so can you tell us about the
2381s	fatality system yeah definitely there's
2384s	um a ton of work been put into the
2387s	fatality system and we've tried a lot of
2389s	different things and and versions of it
2391s	and I think we landed somewhere pretty
2394s	cool so every weapon right now
2398s	has a unique kill animation for enemies
2401s	that you uh that you otherwise would
2404s	kill you can instead perform a fatality
2406s	on them so whenever you take someone
2410s	down and and you hit them to a point
2412s	where they would have died they instead
2414s	get suspended at one Health and they
2417s	stay there for about five or six seconds
2420s	um if you don't hit them they'll fall
2421s	over but if you restart your combo on
2424s	them it'll perform a fatality uh and
2427s	also I can my since and's fighting a
2429s	wolf I should point out that I'm dumb
2430s	hold on I forgot to do my attrib destroy
2432s	it again jeez I'm terrible man this game
2435s	is rough this game is hard yeah
2437s	sorry I'm terrible at this game hold on
2439s	I forgot to set my attributes I have
2441s	zero and
2442s	everything so so yeah uh since Andy is
2445s	fight was fighting a wolf and then got
2446s	chomped in half um I'll point out that
2448s	it only affects humans and it only
2450s	affects NPCs so you can't perform a
2452s	fatality on other
2454s	players um but if you take an NPC down
2457s	to the point where you would have killed
2458s	them and they're human they might enter
2460s	a sort of day state and during that day
2463s	state if you attack them again from the
2464s	start so you can't do it mid- combo uh
2467s	you'll perform that fatality animation
2469s	you'll get a big chunk of Health back
2470s	you'll get some stamina back and you'll
2472s	get a damage buff that lingers for a
2474s	while I think it's about a minute or
2477s	so
2480s	um yeah it's bloody it's cool and bloody
2483s	it is cool and bloody hon so am I the
2485s	the visual novelty of it is is the more
2487s	fun part I would

2543s	fatality you can't so whenever the fat

2715s	um all right so we got fatalities we got
2718s	bloody stuff uh oh uh one of the other
2721s	overhauls that we're doing we'll get to
2723s	the UI stuff in a minute but I know
2725s	there was some new inventory UI stuff
2727s	that some people saw but we also have
2729s	some new follower UI or you know
2732s	follower uh like functionality in
2734s	general got uh overhauled with the
2738s	update as well can you can you give us
2740s	more like any insight on how that kind
2741s	of stuff works yeah as soon as you have
2743s	a follower it'll become pretty clear as
2745s	well yeah yeah yeah um but we
2748s	took we we knew we were doing UI updates
2751s	during this update and we decided that
2755s	there was a lot of follower stuff we
2756s	wanted to address as well
2758s	and like responsiveness of your follower
2760s	is one of the big ones so now if you if
2763s	you interact with a follower uh you get
2766s	this UI in the Middle where instead of
2768s	having to interact with them and hold
2769s	down a radial wheel to change their
2771s	tactics and everything you get it all in
2773s	one sheet right here and you can just go
2775s	through and change the way you you want
2776s	them to behave so you can determine how
2779s	far away they follow you how far away
2780s	they should attack things or chase
2782s	things away yeah it's a lot more
2783s	granular than I I recall from the radio
2785s	menus as well so it's really you can
2788s	like set all that stuff like on your own
2790s	and and the cooler thing is that these
2792s	behaviors of course have memory so you
2794s	can set a guard to be defensive and stay
2797s	you know in the spot that you put them
2799s	if they're not following you anymore but
2801s	when they're following you if you want
2802s	them to be aggressive they can you know
2804s	go out and attack everything that you
2806s	that you know you see so uh and and you
2810s	know if you if you make the fall th the
2812s	th follow you before it would wipe the
2814s	behavior and set it to a specific one
2816s	and then you put them back in the world
2817s	and it goes back to default now it just
2820s	remains what you said it to um there's
2823s	also updates to the actual radio wheel
2825s	and the commands that you you use with
2827s	them um so if any can if you can uh hold
2832s	down e now to see the wheel um the wheel
2835s	itself uses this kind of built-in
2837s	navigation so you don't have to find
2839s	your cursor on the screen and click on a
2842s	little button you get a a much more
2844s	grounded uh radial selection and we've
2847s	applied this to radials across the game
2849s	as
2850s	well
2852s	and with the commands if you can go back
2854s	to the commands you can see they have a
2856s	a short list of commands that that um
2858s	they can do so the one that's go here
2861s	that's contextualized that's the one
2862s	that's also like you know you can also
2864s	attack things um if you can back off and
2867s	just look at the actual commands again
2869s	then we've got the sorry sorry yeah yeah
2872s	radio wheel away from him oh my bad my
2875s	bad right right so you can see there's
2876s	the the flea uh sorry there's go here
2878s	defend here and flee um go here I
2880s	believe is the one that's contextualized
2882s	so it will change to attack if you if
2883s	you were looking at something um or at
2885s	least the regular command does if you
2887s	just look at something interact um flee
2889s	will cause the follower to try to
2891s	disengage and return to you so before if
2895s	you remember trying to use the return
2897s	command uh they would wait like two
2899s	seconds and then start to run towards
2901s	you and then get distracted or hit by
2904s	something uh or you press the button
2906s	again and it resets to be behavior and
2907s	none of that stuff happens anymore so
2909s	now if you say flee come you know saying
2911s	come back to me they're going to get
2912s	away from what they're fighting yeah it
2915s	will be the same on consoles as well um
2919s	so the other thing that you can't see
2921s	but you will feel whenever you get this
2923s	update is that this radial menu pops up
2926s	really fast and you can cue the input
2928s	for uh what you want it to do so Andy
2931s	can tell it to you know it's it's almost
2933s	like to draw a point of comparison like
2936s	using the Ping system in Apex where you
2938s	hold the button down and you know it's
2940s	coming up so you move in the right
2941s	direction and as soon as you let go it
2942s	does that attack so it's incredibly
2944s	Snappy compared to the way it was before
2947s	and it doesn't require an input to
2948s	validate the action it'll just validate
2950s	on
2952s	release just like that yeah so I'm
2954s	holding it then and then all I do is
2955s	just like kind of gesture towards the
2957s	the direction that I want with the
2959s	mouse yeah and this is just on Ming
2961s	keyboard it's pretty it's reasonably
2962s	responsive like I like it and I'm not
2964s	much of a console like gam pad user
2966s	myself but I I imagine it's also
2968s	extremely I mean it's the whole controls
2973s	use radials in general so you can still
2975s	use the old commands um so if you just
2978s	want to you know use interact to tell
2980s	them to attack or did my thr or come
2982s	back I think that we did change the
2984s	order of what um a lot of people might
2987s	not even know this exists but if you
2988s	single tap interact versus double tap
2990s	versus triple tap it'll do different
2992s	things and I think we did change it so
2995s	it used to be that move was part of that
2996s	and that's not there anymore but I I
2998s	think that single tap is go or attack
3001s	and double tap is return um and there is
3005s	still a triple tap command but I'm not
3007s	sure if I'm mixing it up with go and
3009s	return so you know you you can
3010s	experiment with it really quickly and
3012s	see exactly which commands do which for
3013s	me I'm it's I'm just all about attack
3015s	and return
3019s	personally yeah flee okay so if you
3021s	triple tap it does
3023s	flee po cannot move there
3026s	please please you're drunk drunken
3028s	pirate fighter or drunken pirate Fighter
3030s	3 you're drunk to return to flee to

3042s	shortcuts so if I have two followers for

3051s	followers come back to me yeah just like
3053s	it would have been before they follow
3054s	the same order list cool cool I turn it
3056s	to daytime cuz is dark it's impossible

3065s	kinds of like quality life things are
3067s	generally oh yeah yeah I guess it's also

3100s	micromanaging them can be a lot

3108s	that's coming in chapter 4 um we're on
3111s	exod LS right now so there's a couple
3112s	small new camps in syta uh we'll try to
3115s	show some footage of that uh I don't
3117s	have anything immediately handy right
3118s	now unfortunately but basically they're
3120s	like uh kind of inspired by uh the siege
3123s	of Al Mariah they're both uh similar in
3126s	their um like construction I suppose in
3130s	that that they're destructible like NPC
3132s	bases but they're much smaller in scale
3134s	and scope uh a for complexity and also B
3137s	for like performance reasons as well uh
3140s	you know when you have big buildings
3141s	like that that you know lots of lots of
3142s	things going on lots lots of
3143s	calculations going on that everyone has
3145s	to see yeah they they behave a lot more
3148s	like regular camps too because um they
3151s	don't have a constant onslaught of
3152s	enemies like The Siege does um you know
3154s	the siege is a very unique piece of
3156s	content and we we've always wanted to
3158s	use that same building system to just
3160s	make smaller camps um that you you could
3163s	you know Siege and and take what's out
3165s	of it with the the tools that you have
3168s	so if you um visit those camps on ZTA
3171s	you'll see that they're much smaller
3173s	they're constructed like a almost like a
3174s	player would construct a base you know
3176s	they use the same building pieces and
3178s	they're filled with enemies that will
3179s	die and not respawn till sometime later
3180s	just like a normal camp in the game with
3183s	like the standard 15 minut a dang I saw
3187s	someone in chat asking for the the great
3189s	Axe uh finisher so you can just spawn
3192s	like a ton of do nothings okay and he'll
3196s	hit them all in one hit all in the same
3198s	spot fatality okay Co I might want to
3202s	get rid of your follower though
3204s	aggressive me let them be we're showing
3207s	off how how good the the controls are
3210s	I'm just going to kill the follower it's
3211s	they're not going to live anyway it's

3216s	come so can can NPCs perform finishers

3287s	the the small buildings they uh enemies
3290s	don't respawn until the base resets uh
3292s	base resets occur if no one is
3294s	nearby the bosses uh defeated no players
3297s	are nearby I think those are the same
3298s	rules as elarai I'm not sure
3301s	exactly but I don't think the boss needs
3304s	to be defeated for them to resp got got
3306s	got you just have to not be there
3307s	basically gotcha cool okay and then
3312s	moving on
3313s	hopefully we'll try to show some of the
3315s	SI the camps uh in future social media
3319s	content also you can just check it again
3320s	online right now uh all this content is
3323s	available for you to check out right now
3325s	on public beta and will be coming out

3327s	second uh so in addition so okay we
3329s	still have more things to cover that's
3331s	uh in terms of like features and balance
3333s	stuff uh we have new Purge encounters uh
3336s	mostly focused on like high level purges
3338s	I believe uh so there's four new
3341s	encounters if I recall
3343s	correctly there's oh sorry yeah you give
3347s	it a rundown yeah sorry sorry so um
3350s	we've got a wave of Thieves that will
3351s	come in and the we the thieves are
3353s	cloaked by the invisibility spell
3355s	they'll try to sneak past everybody
3357s	unlock your doors and go straight to the
3359s	treasure to pick it up and carry it
3361s	out um there are Champion enemies that
3364s	essentially have a kind of like a an
3367s	Entourage that comes with them uh
3369s	they're they're a bit beefed up compared
3370s	to your your normal uh enemies and they
3374s	they move in formations so when you see
3376s	it it'll stand out it's pretty cool um
3379s	we have a Golem wave there's actually a
3383s	couple Golem waves but one of them is is
3385s	Jarhead Golems that will come as kind of
3387s	a Siege mechanic to try to blow your
3390s	walls
3391s	up and there's also a really cool wave
3396s	with a sorcerer that spawns and you can
3399s	see their yeah so here's some some uh
3402s	those look like Jarhead
3403s	Golems uh there's a glare on the screen
3405s	so it's a little hard to see but um so
3409s	they'll they'll come in and try to blow
3410s	your walls up and then the last wave
3412s	that we have is one that a a sorcerer
3415s	will spawn and begin to summon a meteor
3419s	from the the sky and Rain meteors on
3422s	your base so very destructive very cool
3426s	let's see if show some of that off too
3432s	yeah yes the the meteors can be
3434s	harvested there are definitely different
3435s	types of meteors in there they uh little
3439s	they can be stopped as well you're not
3441s	guaranteed to just be smashed by meteors
3443s	because they're there so it's a thing to
3447s	keep an eye out for so is this uh is
3450s	this meteor guy is this whole casting
3452s	animation like a call back to spell
3453s	weaving from Age Of
3455s	Conan uh not directly it it is it is
3458s	really intentionally meant to draw your
3461s	eye so it's a lot harder to miss because
3463s	the destruction will
3466s	be significant pretty pretty massive
3468s	yeah let me uh let's see here what can
3470s	we ah
3473s	yeah so this is a yeah this is a video
3475s	of the base that we were in earli
3477s	uh in the introduction and yeah this is
3478s	the meteor Mage just like opening
3483s	up there they are
3489s	yeah so this should be uh fun to
3494s	defend yeah it's it's a highle mechanic
3497s	I believe it's nine and 10 um don't

3507s	it's well I was going to say it's
3509s	raining men but it's not it's raining

3518s	fun yeah yeah so there are some Golems
3521s	you know making contact with the
3524s	walls and they're
3530s	exploding so these and more you can
3533s	expect with high level purges coming to
3534s	you in chapter 4
3537s	um and then also something you may have
3540s	seen from the intro as well is a new
3543s	Siege weapon the ballista oh there they
3545s	go exploding everywhere very
3548s	good okay so yeah let's check out the
3550s	ballista real quick got to go to the
3554s	base oh there's so much to cover oh my
3556s	goodness uh okay go over here so the
3560s	ballista ballista is a brand new uh
3562s	Siege uh structure that players can
3565s	build uh it is is uh it requires a
3568s	trebuchet base I believe but then when
3571s	you build on top of it you of course can
3574s	where is it where is it where is it
3575s	there it
3577s	is yeah so we actually renamed the
3579s	trebuchet base uh you've got your siege
3581s	foundation and now there's a Siege
3583s	weapon base oh gotcha okay so you build
3585s	either once you place the weapon base
3587s	down you can build up either ballista or
3589s	a trebuchet from that um ballista
3592s	unlocks a little bit earlier uh I
3594s	believe it's 10 levels later
3597s	and uh the engineer feed is a
3599s	prerequisite so you'll have to know how
3601s	to make those trebuchets to begin with
3603s	to be able to make
3605s	it uh it's pretty fun uh so yeah like
3608s	Andy showing now you can literally jump
3611s	into it and pilot it aim it around it's
3614s	a lot easier to hit targets with than
3616s	the ballista is it has a little bit
3618s	different purpose though um the ballista
3621s	will or sorry the Treet will deal a lot
3623s	of you know Splash damage hit a lot of
3625s	stuff over a bit area and the ballista
3628s	is a lot more focused so you can see uh
3631s	Andy can see the inventory of what can
3632s	be crafted right now and there are balls
3635s	and bolts and the bolts are really
3638s	anti-personnel they're very very strong
3640s	against people and uh other Wildlife you
3644s	know monsters and the bolts are are or
3647s	sorry the balls are really a Siege
3649s	device so if you want to knock down some
3651s	doors or walls you want to use the balls
3653s	instead um the other hidden
3657s	functionality of the ballista is that it
3659s	absolutely annihilates avatars so a star
3662s	metal
3663s	bolt uh with a full charge on the
3665s	ballista like Andy's charging it up
3667s	right now which increases the range and
3669s	damage that the ammunition deals it'll
3671s	kill an avatar and two bolts so you can
3674s	have two ready and loaded up and just
3676s	take them out as the avatars come up as
3678s	an anti- avatar defense if you're
3681s	present um but yeah now that he's
3683s	piloting it he just has to hold down
3685s	right Mouse uh you know Tim heavy attack
3688s	to charge it up it saves its its memory
3692s	over you know the duration of the charge
3694s	so if you let go halfway it might scoot
3696s	forward a little bit but you'll hear a
3698s	notch click and it'll it'll lock in I
3700s	missed uh and then just fire just normal
3703s	attack to fire
3706s	it so yeah I'm just holding on right
3708s	Mouse
3710s	button and then presumably yeah like
3712s	when when a big old Avatar is knocking
3714s	at my door I can just shoot at it see if
3715s	I can get this no I don't want to kill
3717s	Panthers on the I already killed one
3719s	Panther okay so there's a bunch of
3721s	bullet drop okay yeah that's fine it
3723s	does have good range but you do have to
3725s	correct for the the fall off oh no I
3727s	can't seem to get out all right I'll

3732s	it and you can push it around too so you
3734s	can you can aim in a bit of a cone uh in
3737s	front of it and you can push the siege
3739s	foundation around just like a trebuchet

3747s	play uh people are asking if there's a
3748s	chance that we'll see THS being put on
3750s	ball list in the future yeah so that was
3752s	part of our plan and like we wanted to
3754s	ship it for this update but we didn't
3756s	get those done 100% in time so it is
3760s	likely that in the future THS will be
3762s	able to man both trebuchet and ballista
3765s	as uh you know base defense
3767s	options oh there's also a little bit of
3770s	more cool stuff about it too uh it's
3772s	it's probably going to be really hard to
3773s	show here but there's actually
3774s	penetration on the bolts and and and the
3777s	balls too so like if you have if like
3779s	you set this up to defend against a
3781s	purge and there's like a row of enemies
3783s	coming in uh you can charge up a
3785s	Ballista and you
3787s	know yeah it'll Blaster them all and
3790s	knock them all down to the sides and
3791s	stuff there's knockdown on
3793s	it my
3796s	fantasy very good thank
3799s	you okay yeah and then yeah I see some
3801s	people in chat asking like hey can we
3803s	see some stuff in the season pass can we
3804s	see some of stuff in the space we will
3805s	get to that sorry there's still there's
3806s	still a couple things we wanted to get
3808s	to gameplay wise before we start talking
3810s	about the other stuff I know there's
3811s	there's a lot to talk about in the
3812s	Stream um see okay we got we got the
3815s	siege item next up okay we uh if you
3819s	were watching towards the beginning of
3821s	the stream you saw some what appears to
3823s	be some changes with the uh player menu
3826s	and inventory management so now you want
3828s	to jump into talking about what actually
3830s	these are yeah there's a lot here and
3833s	I'm definitely not going to hit
3835s	everything so if if you want to
3837s	experience it you know wait for the
3839s	update or check out the the public beta
3841s	because it's all there as of yesterday
3842s	as Andy said um a lot of this started as
3848s	friction that we had in play tests with
3850s	like just trying to manipulate stuff in
3852s	our inventory easily um and a lot of the
3855s	time with Gamepad like we try to split
3856s	our time between mouse and keyboard and
3858s	controllers so we can see what it's like
3860s	on both sides of the fence and on
3862s	controller it was really rough so um we
3866s	did some stuff that we think benefit
3867s	both and some of the biggest stuff is
3871s	like the the functionality of buttons
3873s	across the bottom of the screen is
3874s	standardized now so if there's an input
3877s	or action for an item type that button's
3880s	always in the same place it doesn't
3881s	really just like disappear uh you know
3884s	we've got a placeholder for things that
3885s	literally don't have an action but it
3887s	should be much less confusing like what
3889s	an item actually can do when you select
3890s	it in your
3892s	inventory um we change like stack
3895s	splitting uh the the fastest way to
3897s	split stuff is literally just to right
3898s	click it now so uh you know we find that
3901s	most of the time when we're splitting
3903s	stuff we're not trying to get pull one
3904s	out of the stack we're trying to get to
3906s	a you know a a lesser number of what is
3909s	usually a stack of hundreds or thousands
3912s	um so it's much faster to split and move
3914s	items
3915s	now uh one of the super coolest things
3918s	is the quick stack function so Andy I
3920s	don't know if you want to place down a
3923s	um I don't but what sorry okay container
3926s	if you can open any any container or a
3928s	crafting station whatever anything that
3929s	has an
3930s	inventory um sure yeah let's see we we
3934s	added a thing called quick stack which
3936s	means it will take anything from your
3938s	inventory that's already in a container
3940s	and move the rest of them in so if you
3943s	just move one of those five stacks of
3945s	iron bars over and a stack of the the
3948s	shaped
3949s	wood um you see there's a button on the
3951s	bottom of his inventory called quick
3952s	stack if he clicks that it'll move all
3954s	the iron and shaped wood from his
3955s	inventory into the
3959s	uh well it it should move it all into
3962s	there it's an internal build sorry still
3964s	still you know it's not not finished yet
3966s	but that's the intent sorry we're we're
3967s	on a beta build oh rip uh try actually
3970s	just try with a regular container cuz I
3972s	I kind of Wonder Maybe the bench it's
3974s	just the bench yeah might be because
3975s	it's a dismantling bench yeah that's my

4059s	whenever he selects like heaviest first

4064s	everything like it would have normally
4065s	um if you go back to no sorting it'll
4068s	actually keep that sorting so you don't

4090s	be in we tried to sort things so you can
4092s	see Andy's got uh in his inventory when
4094s	sorting by type he's got all like the uh
4097s	like a lot of the raw crafting like
4099s	plant stuff up top and then he's got all
4101s	the bees and then all the the weapons
4103s	all it's all just grouped together
4105s	basically
4107s	um and then the buttons are dynamic as
4109s	well so you can see he has four item
4111s	filters at the top up now uh it's based
4114s	on the stuff that's actually in his
4115s	inventory so you can turn those on and
4117s	off cool just to get a finer view of
4120s	what exactly is actually in your
4121s	inventory oh noher armor is a consumable
4125s	understood technically true
4129s	yeah people are tools to be used I'm a
4132s	tool I know
4134s	that
4139s	uh then on the other panel we've got the
4140s	whole other panel over there as well too
4142s	where if you just click on one of the
4143s	recipes you could see um hopefully more
4145s	clearly what it takes to actually make
4147s	that item is like one of the main the
4148s	main goals there so we try to
4150s	communicate the inventory about the
4152s	selection uh a little bit better and
4154s	what it takes to make it a little bit
4155s	better as
4157s	well yeah it's great to see it just like
4159s	all the requirements just right there
4161s	and take some of the guess work out
4164s	which is good
4169s	yeah that's great yeah hopefully I'm not
4172s	forgetting anything major but there is a
4173s	lot to

4217s	follow your cursor like it did in uh
4219s	chapter two two

4255s	then I think oh hold on I think we're
4256s	also speaking stamina a tiny bit too

4259s	ask what about magnetic foes um I went
4262s	through
4264s	a number of enemies in the game and and
4267s	fixed their rotation so they shouldn't
4269s	be as magnetic I didn't do every enemy
4272s	in the game so there may be some that we
4275s	that are still too hard or not um to
4278s	give you guys a baseline we actually
4280s	pulled data for enemies that had a
4284s	significantly higher kill death ratio
4285s	than they did before the patch and I hit
4288s	um a combination of those enemies that
4290s	were you know really egregious and the
4293s	ones that are involved in the event as
4294s	well so we could be sure that the stuff
4296s	that people will see the most during
4298s	this update will have the most uh
4300s	forgiving rotation and if there's other
4302s	stuff that you see that feels like a
4304s	problem to you just report it to us and
4306s	you know we can take a look it doesn't
4307s	take terribly long to make the
4309s	adjustments uh but as always it's bound
4311s	to our relase schedule so once we do see
4313s	it and see that people want something
4315s	adjusted or or think that it should be
4316s	you know we can assess if if we agree
4318s	and it'll come out in an update yeah
4321s	yeah see how we can fit it into our
4322s	schedule cuz we're always working on
4323s	like stuff and you know the people that
4325s	would fix stuff is also working on new
4326s	stuff so it's it's just a matter of like
4328s	juggling and allocating resources
4329s	properly yeah someone asked what's the
4331s	enemy that kills the most players I
4333s	don't have the one that kills the most
4335s	players but the one that had the highest
4337s	increase I believe was the Imp King that
4340s	went up like 300% or something like that
4344s	um his charge attack was absolutely
4346s	bananas like he could spin in circles
4348s	and and chase people with It Go imp King
4352s	hell yeah and you know coupled with the
4354s	fact that he's probably fighting people
4355s	that are naked and maybe haven't played
4357s	the game before you know it's easy to
4362s	understand and I think uh what is it I
4364s	think in addition to some of this stuff
4365s	we're we're making a couple tweaks to
4367s	stamina recharge rates or something I'm
4369s	not really sure I know we tested some of
4371s	that it's actually pretty minor um I
4374s	don't it might even be hard to notice if
4376s	if people are watching but if you exit
4377s	creative mode um so there's there's kind
4381s	of two things stamina yeah yeah you'll
4383s	want to do that um there's there's two
4385s	things um the first is that rolling
4387s	thrust had the stamina bonus removed so
4391s	I don't have roll bound sorry yeah it's
4393s	it's okay if you do rolling thrust now
4395s	you'll still get a penetration buff but
4397s	you won't get a stammer reduction on the
4398s	next attack and the other thing um which
4404s	is it's percept cable but I think it's
4407s	it's generally hard to tell is that
4410s	stamina doesn't regenerate in .1 seconds
4413s	after you start after you spend it or
4415s	deplete it now it waits one full second
4417s	so technically it's 10 times longer uh
4420s	but uh or you know but it's it's a very
4424s	brief when you play it yeah in in in
4428s	practice it's a lot more it's one of
4429s	those things that you look at the
4430s	numbers and the patch notes and you're
4431s	like that's an insane difference you
4433s	know but when you play it you know you
4435s	can't can feel it there it does feel
4437s	like there's a little more grit in
4438s	combat there's a little bit more weight
4441s	yeah there there's a little bit more uh
4443s	commitment to what your actions are but
4445s	uh it comes back very fast still and the
4448s	big thing and the best thing about this
4450s	uh is that it it was specifically to
4452s	find a natural way to prevent infinite
4455s	roll spamming so you can still roll
4458s	forever but in some cases you'll be
4460s	forced to wait that that you know
4463s	whatever one seconds plus the time to
4465s	regenerate the stamina back because you
4467s	know you've gone into to stamina debt so
4469s	you need to regenerate what you can't
4470s	see and then you need to add that second
4472s	on top of it as well so um you can still
4476s	roll a lot but you can't roll forever uh
4479s	with no break and when it comes to
4483s	balancing that break like we're really
4486s	on the edge of a knife here if we make
4487s	it too
4488s	long it will be a problem for a lot of
4491s	people if we make it too short I mean
4493s	it's already too short so you already
4495s	see how that that's a problem so I'm
4497s	trying to just nudge it in the right
4499s	direction instead of making it you
4502s	swinging too far one way or the
4508s	other people are rioting they want to
4510s	see that dog the dog they want to see

5397s	think that as it stands now it's pretty
5400s	hard to interact with uh not a lot of
5404s	people even know it's there uh probably
5407s	so we've made some changes to the way
5409s	battle pass progression and challenges
5411s	work challenges are just weekly sets of
5414s	challenges so you'll get three and
5416s	that's it whenever you complete one
5418s	it'll give you 2500 um battle pass XP so
5422s	you'll get two and a half unlocks and
5424s	you don't have to come to this screen to
5426s	claim it so if you were to just happen
5428s	to defeat a demonic animal which is like
5431s	one of the uh like Alpha kind of like
5433s	rare spawns that happen when you farm a
5435s	population down um like they're they're
5438s	probably not called demonic it would be
5439s	like the like the alpha hyena uh you
5442s	know withta like albino hyena with
5444s	demonic eyes and stuff uh if you kill
5447s	one of those it'll just complete the
5448s	challenge and you'll just get unlocks
5450s	right there um we'll also make it so
5456s	whenever you play the game you get XP so
5458s	any the the stuff that you do standard
5460s	that earns you XP in the game like
5462s	killing and harvesting and crafting just
5464s	doing that will get you battle pass XP
5466s	now it's not a onetoone map but it's
5468s	really quick and if you just sit down
5470s	and play like an hour or two you're
5471s	going to get a handful of unlocks in
5473s	that
5474s	time
5476s	um completing the challenges uh they're
5479s	they're a little bit more they're
5481s	probably a little more timec consuming
5482s	now than they were before we because
5484s	there's only three we want them to be a
5485s	little bit more difficult to complete
5487s	but paired with being you know really
5489s	naturally completed and the fact that
5491s	you don't have to go claim them means
5492s	you'll be doing these a lot more and we
5494s	think that a lot more people will be
5496s	able to finish the battle pass a lot
5497s	more naturally now just because all you
5499s	have to do is play the
5500s	game

5506s	thing with the battle pass XP and
5508s	challenges that I wanted to say but let
5511s	me give me one second actually cuz I got
5513s	a nice really nice primer for from one
5514s	of our producers about it as well so let
5517s	me just check here real quick yeah it's
5520s	really straightforward like you can sit
5522s	down in play for a little bit and oh I
5524s	remember what it is uh whenever you
5526s	actually unlock a tier now it will
5528s	appear on screen so you'll actually see
5531s	a a little effect appear on screen it's
5533s	only there for about 4 seconds and it
5535s	has a shortcut it says tier complete
5537s	it'll show you oh yeah it actually shows
5539s	like a little like fifo popup or sorry
5541s	fade in Fade Out uh popup like towards
5543s	the you can't really see it here it'll
5546s	show you exactly what's unlocked and
5547s	it'll give you a little shortcut so if
5549s	you just use interact for the couple
5551s	seconds when that's on screen it'll take
5553s	you straight to the battle pass and show
5555s	you what what tier has been
5557s	completed um and if you don't want to
5559s	see that at all we added an option in
5561s	the interface options to turn those
5563s	toast menus off so if you go to gameplay
5565s	and just go the whole way down to the
5566s	bottom there's one for battle pass tier
5569s	completion toast and if you don't want
5570s	it to interfere so you play on an RP
5572s	server you don't care about battle pass
5574s	at all all just turn it
5578s	off get out of here get out of
5582s	here so yeah basically you can actually
5585s	yeah get Battle pass progression from
5587s	just actually playing the game and doing
5588s	normal things you would normally do
5589s	within the game anyway play the game get
5591s	things yep and then challenges are
5592s	actually the challenges like y yeah yeah
5595s	they're like we we we we balance around
5599s	rates that like you know we expect
5601s	people to be at a certain completion
5602s	point at a certain time during chapter
5605s	and we're you know trying to take into
5608s	consideration that you don't need to do
5610s	challenges that uh you know the you
5612s	should get a a good amount of unlocks by
5615s	just playing the game normally and if
5617s	you you really need to rush or get done
5619s	in a shorter amount of time having those
5620s	you know two and a half unlocks uh with
5623s	seven and a half per week is a a big
5633s	buff you got to feed the
5636s	dog
5638s	no wait can you eat it or does it have
5639s	to be
5642s	raw I saw someone on YouTube chat being
5644s	like if you let the dog die you have to
5646s	start the entire stream you have to redo
5649s	the entire stream which I agree with we
5651s	would do better the second time we would
5652s	we would we would it's correct there we
5654s	go see a good boy someone was asking if
5658s	we could get a um harder difficulty
5661s	than huh so someone's asking if there's
5664s	like there could be a new difficulty
5666s	level for con and Exiles because
5668s	barbaric is too easy or not they didn't
5671s	say that bit but they're glutton for
5672s	punishment I see that's where server
5674s	settings come crom's own yeah crom's

5703s	and Glory servers but that's a totally
5704s	maybe that's what I'm thinking yeah

5707s	actually yeah that was like the more
5708s	more hardcore PVP stuff but yeah like
5710s	actual I mean but like the you know the
5712s	rules of an MMO and the rules of a like
5714s	a smaller Survival game are uh pretty
5717s	different cuz like a lot of the item
5719s	drop rules here are very similar to like
5720s	what you might have seen from Like Blood
5721s	and Glory where you actually like lose
5723s	an item
5724s	but from an MMO in 2008 that was like
5726s	much less common than a game like this
5729s	Exiles being such a great platform for
5731s	for mods as well like someone could make
5733s	a perade death mod so easily and it
5736s	would it would be there for the
5738s	extremely small number of people that
5740s	want to play that way yeah because it it
5743s	is a very uh compelling idea but most
5748s	people don't want to lose their stuff
5750s	yep loss ofion for a certain personality
5753s	type
5756s	one that yeah is a glutton for
5758s	punishment I am sometimes not to L I
5761s	love risk I like Stakes I mean I like it
5764s	when Stakes are high but I don't like
