210s system working on some bugs and exploits

217s exploit recently on PC people were using
224s to get around damage and rage rumors now
229s kind of stuff hmm the one that no one
231s liked so we got rid of that I think
235s that's that's good to get rid of that
237s and we're working on some other ones
240s that you guys have so helpfully told us
244s about through export hundreds but I
246s don't think I want to spend that much
248s time talking about that we'll talk about
251s the individual fix as we put them out oh

257s and we we always a little bit careful
260s with divulging exploited information

264s to ruin the game experience for yeah a

270s why it's important that you guys let us

378s right now we are trying to finish the
381s work that we're doing on the pet patch
384s what we have been calling the pet patch
386s this whole time which is actually very
387s large and includes a lot more many
390s things than the pet stuff I mean I guess
394s a lot of you were here when some weeks
397s ago when we tried to put this in the
399s test live server for the first time and
401s that didn't really go so well and at
404s that moment where the moment was when we
408s realize okay we need to you know take a
411s deeper look at what we're doing we need
413s to increase the general level of quality
416s of the stuff that we're doing and this
419s means that we had to spend more time
420s working on things yeah and we need to
423s stay flexible with our
425s deliverables right and I know that this
427s is this is maybe not a popular saying
430s for some people but you need to look at
432s it this way if if we speed things up in
435s order to get more stuff up there yeah
437s let's start that we put our there is
438s going to be of lesser quality that's
440s just the way it goes
440s right so the mounts on the sorcery
445s system have been in the pipe for quite a
449s long time now they were in the pipe
450s before launch there were some technical
452s problems with with mounting particular
455s that helped with the decision of you
458s know delaying this it's it's exactly the
461s same now these things are in the pipe
463s and we don't know exactly when we will
466s be able to start touching on them we
469s know that they are I mean they are two
472s of our kind of big big features that we
475s want to address at some point but we
477s don't know yet and we want to we will
480s not start working on these features
482s until we are done with Libby teaches
485s we're working on right now yeah right
486s this is what their compromise comes in
488s you want if you want to put out higher
491s quality more stable more refined highly
494s highly polished big features then you
496s need to do less of them yeah so I know
500s you guys want specific news about when
502s we're gonna do the mounts when we're
505s gonna do a source for you are we when
507s we're gonna do pets when we're gonna do
509s anything exactly are we doing those
510s things or not are we doing CG updates

515s the answer is we would like to do all of

520s development are that well we have to do
522s them one by one when is this right time

597s with that is that you end up having to
599s like make a giant six-month-long feature

629s question if there were any plans for
631s dual wielding of other weapons rather
633s other than just you know a a sword a
637s mace or a axe and the throwing axe and
639s then following up to that there were
640s also a lot of people asking if we're
642s planning on adding any new weapon types
645s alright dual wielding okay let me go
648s first of our new weapon types um
649s possibly yes we are at some point right
655s after release I wasn't really that keen
656s on any new work on types to the game
658s because I wanted to get up feeling of
661s the what do you guys like calling the
664s meta game right the dynamics of PvP
667s and the dynamics of different weapon
669s type usage before we made any more
673s weapon times they have the a new weapon
675s ty has the ability to shake things
677s around quite strongly right so we need
680s to be careful with that because shaking
682s things around
683s is not always necessarily a good thing
685s right so what we did instead is we
689s looked at welcome ties slowly one by one
691s and did tiny little adjustments here and
693s there
693s and there's still some of those that are
696s in the pipe that we are testing
698s internally for example we're testing I
700s think I mentioned is another strain were
702s worried about we're testing a little
705s thing too with Spears to try to taper
709s the dodge cancelling of invisible hits
713s behavior that we see like people rightly
715s with the spear and then before you even
717s have a chance to get the network message

724s macro days and it's just it's just not

783s exciting and people will also like but
787s I'm not ready to make any any more

791s Line here is yes we are open to add more
795s weapon types to the game even to the
797s point of you know shaking the meta a
800s little bit yeah I think we're in a good
801s spot now where we can you know let's
803s take a look at speed of dominance let's
806s take a look at one-handed maces and why
808s nobody uses them like axes are now okay
810s but maybe maybe that opener could could
813s get a little work that kind of stuff

816s about dual-wielding which was the other
819s part of the question we don't really
822s have any plans right now to add the
825s ability to put kind of random weapons in
829s your offhand there this is mostly due to
833s how the actionbar
834s interface works right so this is
837s something we discussed in development
839s and this is also how we ended up with
841s daggers and where they are we can make
844s it so you can just equip dual swords and
847s dual swords are one item just like
849s daggers are one item but it's two tigers
851s we actually now have the tech to do that
853s and put whatever mesh we want to do it
855s on your offhand and do it detection and
857s stuff but but we don't actually have the
864s tech to allow you to put whatever you
867s want in your main hand and then whatever
868s you want in your offhand it's actually
871s pretty tricky when you think about how
872s you will make that work with actually
874s morph our time just grab a gamepad for
877s example and try to figure out how you
879s equip only your offhand but not the main
881s how you have to add this kind of boolean
883s toggle you had to have toggles and keep
885s I didn't try to guess what the play is
886s trying to do is it gets complicated and
889s and we don't have any plans to change
891s their paradigm for the action bar and we
893s don't have plans to allow you to put
894s things directly in your offhand in a
896s paper bowl screen or whatever so so no I
900s don't think I don't think we will work I
902s don't think we will do offhand swords or
905s manga shares or cutlasses or restored
908s and CC me transistor at least we might
911s do CC meters like you quip a CC meter
914s like Dark Souls does this oh yeah like
916s it's it is one item and then you pull
917s out that we might do and I basically is
920s like it's a new weapon type it's like
921s you guys want to handle axis what you
923s want you want dual submitters right or
925s do we want to put monetizes we want to
927s put those limiters so that's it
930s basically it's a combination of
932s technical issues and this is the way
934s they're kind of equipment management
936s works in a game and all your hands your
939s hands working again right it's a system
941s that is difficult to do things strictly
943s to the offhand basically
945s all right huh speaking of dual-wielding

955s because you sort of when is this already
957s like why can't you wield a torch and
960s thrall bindings at the same time because
961s like the thrall binding and the torch
963s all go in the left hand while the
965s truncheon goes in the right hand and
966s it's sort of it's sort of stuck there
967s like you can't have a torch in your
968s right hand for example because we're not
970s doing the whole paper doll right hand
972s left hand okay you put the torch goes in
974s the other hand because we didn't want to
976s limit people to choose between light or
978s combat that's why the torch is in the
980s oven right as I just described we don't
984s actually have the ability to let you put
985s the torch in whatever hand you want
986s right the torch is to go in one hand you
988s cannot be you choose if you want to in
990s the main or the offhand because I mean
992s if we had that we could do to a wielding
994s right we don't have that so when we
997s thought about this is okay do we prefer
999s people walking around with a torch and a
1001s shield or with a torch and bindings or
1003s do we prefer people being able to
1006s actually fight things and have the torch
1008s and we just chose that the torch is more
1011s useful or is more limiting when you
1014s don't cannot do combat with it then when
1016s you can yeah so that's it
1017s so the binding self is a similar thing
1021s bindings are it's basically the same
1023s concept
1024s xa is more like when you're going back
1025s to your base while dragging around this
1027s poor soul that you're gonna turn into
1029s your thrall do we want people to be able
1032s to fight or not and we do want people to
1035s be able to fight because you might get a
1036s tie by a random ostrich or hyena
1038s whatever and yeah it would suck if you
1040s had to drop this roll and then attack
1043s right - so yeah that's what we decided
1046s to do that so it's a practical they're
1048s basically practical considerations also
1051s you can attach with the throw attacks or
1053s inner attach you can attack with the
1054s throw with your block button sorry with
1057s the torch this is my head you can attack
1059s with the torch English because you
1060s attack with the torch with your block
1063s button and that uses the same mechanics
1066s that we have for shields and we thought
1068s that also made sense
1069s well do you choose between what at some
1072s point someday might become fire damage
1074s or setting things on fire whatever or be
1078s able to block and that's also a tactical
1080s choice that you have to make yeah right
1082s and of course when you're in a cave you
1083s have to give up the ability to block and
1085s it's also interesting I mean you could
1087s have gone the other way you give up the
1089s ability to attack but I mean we thought
1092s this was more interesting sure yeah
1094s or if you get the what is it jet is
1098s great Sabre or something then you have a
1100s well then that's a two-handed sword so

1165s more hairstyles more facial hair

1179s demand for that we could just expand it

1296s not surprised for people that follow the
1297s stream regularly but we have been
1300s working in both quite a lot so yes we're
1304s changing things it's not I mean don't
1309s expect super dramatic like oh my god

1313s but we have changed the mechanics of the
1316s right click on bows we are also looking
1318s at damage to do we were doing some play
1323s testing with bow mechanics in you know
1325s and with the bow damage output in
1327s general the other day we were running
1330s the Java stack Daniel in a group of four
1332s people for example and we try with
1335s latest we try different kind of group
1337s setups right so in that specific
1340s evening I was the Archer yeah I was
1342s actually playing as the Archer it was
1344s a complete Archer dedicated role I
1347s didn't I didn't even carry on a weapon I
1349s just had a bow and two thousand arrows
1351s that were your Legolas and and food well
1354s Legolas doesn't need arrows just just
1357s just for mortals right he just pulls
1359s them out of hammers yeah who's the
1360s Damario space-like mollari has given him
1363s so how was the archer I was specifically
1368s trying to test okay what's going on with
1370s this is it like I've read about feedback
1373s about bows I'm not strong they're not
1375s powerful enough
1377s I think those were doing great in that
1380s run of course it requires I mean the
1382s group was basically one tank 1 million
1385s dps which was a I think it was a tranny
1387s spear right or 202 and so depending like
1389s huse which one can hybrid melee type of
1395s tank DPS guy which was like 100 weapons
1398s and sometimes a shield sometimes I throw
1400s an axe right and me as the archer and I
1405s was doing a ton of damage
1407s I was I was destroying things from a
1410s distance we did that a max level grunt
1413s we all had star metal or Assyrian or
1416s whatever each person chose whatever they
1418s wanted and Max Beals so we could test
1420s you could break it right which is also
1424s something we do and I was one shotting I
1427s was one shotting every human NPC in the
1432s dungeon with headshots with a bow
1434s dedicated build one shot in them all of
1437s them yes you hit the head they're dead
1439s in in the internal plateaus in the
1441s internal like that so and this is this
1445s is before the changes that we had done
1447s to both yeah so I am not actually
1450s convinced that we have to do major
1454s damage changes to bows but we're buffing
1457s them a little bit so we are buffing the
1463s right-click mechanism because it's a bit
1464s of a more involved mechanism now right
1466s it also so easier to learn head shots
1469s with it now yeah expect to see a little
1471s increase there but we're not I'm not
1473s changing the baseline damage of bows
1475s right now I think both are
1477s very undervalued and I think they have a
1482s very very strong role in the game and
1484s they can be very very powerful by people
1486s that know what they're doing with them
1488s so yeah this is one this is an example
1491s of one of those things where you go
1493s ahead and you change something
1494s dramatically and you just break right so
1498s yeah so yeah and as we've said a couple
1503s of times already like the the power shop
1509s is coming back like you'll be able to
1510s hold your bow you can hold it and then

4118s you wouldn't believe like fifty thousand

4303s 200 furnaces because you want to make
