Server 2587 has a group of trolls that continuously DDoS the server whenever they get raided. I've got screenshots to prove this. This started happening in late October through November, and just recently started up again when we went to war with them. Countless reports have been made to Funcom and their employees about this. We've even had people messaging Funcom employees and have occasionally had them reboot the server for us whenever it goes down. However, this is just a band-aid for what is a bigger over-all problem. The guy responsible for this has been reported multiple times, as well as his messages admitting to the DDoS'ing and nothing has happened to punish him for what he's been doing. The Gamertag of the person responsible is DarkWaIker87 on Xbox. He has some friends who used to be on the server, their clan name was "chilly bones". They had beef with a couple of our tribe members who raided them and had been DDoSing the server to get back at us. They became friends with Dark and when Dark eventually had beef with us and we started raiding his base, this guy started contacting chilly bones to attack the server and kick everyone off during PVP hours. These attacks would sometimes last for 20 minutes, and sometimes they would go on for the entire 6 hours of PVP time. This was also one of the servers that is famous for getting full with the 40 player cap, and this DDoS'ing started completely killing the server.
Eventually our clan got tired of the DDoS'ing and took a break from the server, even though we were winning the clan wars big time. A couple of our allies remained on the server and made a truce with Dark to stop the war, because everyone was tired of the denial of service attacks. The attacks stopped in early November. Finally Dark broke the truce with our allies, and started attacking them again. Our allies informed us of what happened, and a few of our old tribe members came back to the server to aid them. Conveniently after a couple weeks of whooping them in PvP and raiding their bases, the server gets DDoS'ed again.
I know Funcom stated that there was an upcoming fix for DDoS'ing, but I am not sure their fix can help whatever third party software the user is working with to take the server down. Also we are pretty sure its not Dark himself doing the DDoS'ing, we suspected he was reaching out to his friends from Chilly Bones (they are no longer on the server) each time he needs it to go down. Is there any way to punish this player? At the VERY least we want the DDoS'ing to stop so even if they can do something to IP ban whoever the person is. I have seen a video of an admin punishing a player on officials for doing this on PC, so I don't see why they can't also figure something out for this on console.
These trolls are also notorious for blocking the south Jungle spawn near their base, and the Derketo arch priest spawn near Pagoda. He is also working with trolls who are currently spamming sandstone foundations across the whole map, and most of the Dregs area and the area towards set city is completely covered in sandstone. Foundation griefing sucks, but you can at least somewhat handle that in game (though it definitely should be bannable to block obelisks and spawns). But there is literally nothing we can do to combat the DDoSing, and I want to formally ask for help from Funcom here in a public setting, since our private reporting doesn't seem to be working.
They are usually pretty careful in not admitting to the DDoS'ing, but I've got screen shots of a couple of times where Dark has admitted to or inferred that he was responsible for this, so I'll post the screenshots here:
This first one he says "U R done 2night boiz gn" right after a DDoS attack kicking us off the server
This one is him bragging about not having to worry about his base and getting to play another game instead of having to worry about his base. He predicts that his base is safe until raid time is done, how would he know when the DDoS will end unless he is controlling it?
In this one I baited him to let the server back up, and it actually worked. While the server was down I messaged him that we found a way to get past his DDoS and had raided his base. Within 10 minutes of me messaging him this, the server goes back up. In this post you can see me calling him out for DDoS'ing, and him not denying it.
Outside of these messages the only proof I have that he's responsible for it is the verbal word of two other people who have been in a party with him who he has admitted it to in the past, one even being an old clan member of his who left because of an ordeal with racism (just another thing to add to the list of how bad a dude this guy is, you can read about that here if you are part of the Xbox One facebook community: https://m.facebook.com/groups/199939153807183?view=permalink&id=551574428643652
