This is really sad to hear, Tencent and China are very very pro censorship. I wouldn't be surprised if nudity will soon be removed, lots of mods start being taken down and certain no games like this will ever come from funcom again.
Nudity to chinese companies is a huge no no.
Our games won't be affected. :) Tencent has become the largest shareholder, but not the majority shareholder, and we remain fully independent.
Having a chinese mega corporation focused in data hoarding isn't something good on the slightest.
Edit: to add more information about Tencent, they also own partially Epic Games. This chinese giant is something to be scared of, not something to be happy about.
They also partially own Activision, Ubisoft, Paradox Interactive, they fully own Riot, and invested in Reddit earlier this year.
This is just an investment. Funcom games and services will be unaffected :)
This is terrible honestly, not only will they censor all new releases but even the games we already own aren't safe. I full expect major changes to conan exiles :( Even if they say they won't.
They will also probably delete any thread made on the steam forums about this too.

There's a lot of opinions around the Internet about Tencent, so I just wanted to jump into this thread and clear up a few things.
Funcom will still remain fully independent as both a developer and a publisher. Yes, Tencent is the largest shareholder in Funcom, but they are not the majority shareholder. Those are two different things.
What's happened is that they've acquired shares in Funcom that used to be held by another company (KGJ). That's all. Funcom's company structure, management, creative leadership isn't changing. Our games and services are unaffected and will continue as before.
Tencent invests in a lot of different companies: Activision, Ubisoft, Riot Games, Snapchat, even Reddit! And that's all this is, an investment.
I hope that clears things up.
Please report any issues with other players via Direct Message in our forums, to either Hugo or me, providing irrefutable evidence to back the report.
Continually dramatic, untrue and clickbaity statements won't get this issue resolved any soon.

The article is incorrect and Alex is the lead designer, not the creative director. :)

Not that it needs to be said again, but just in case: different content and fixes require different talent. The people in charge of adding new dungeons are not the ones in charge of fixing exploits. So we can continue releasing new content and patching exploits at the same time. The next patch will include, for instance, many exploit fixes along with some new content.
Last but not least, we'd like to remind everybody that if you happen to come across any information regarding how to reproduce an exploit, don't hesitate to send it our way (privately). It is way more helpful towards a fix than threads like this one. :)
The dupe has been around longer than that sadly, it seems the devs don’t care at this point. Funcom’s Joel has moved on to another project and I’m pretty sure they’re helping on atlas as well. I’d guess they have a skeleton crew working on this game, whatever semi-competent bug fixers they have are not on the Conan team.

Can't login to game for the free weekend. Do I need to create a new account to have access? I'm using an old account that's existed for a long time. But when I open the game and try to login, it says wrong username/password. And before you ask if I typed it in right, I guarantee that I did. I've tried DOZENS of times even copying and pasting to be sure. I can't login in the actual game, but on the website I login NP. So... wth?

Huge Ark Fan that got burnt out on it after way to many hours, literally started looking into Conan an hour ago, and was looking to pick it up if on sale. Now I find out its a free to play weekend an hour later. Seems almost like some divine coincidence or destiny going on here.
Im looking for a more solo player survival experience, I love crafting and building. Hoping this provides a good experience like Ark
