[2023] Old Legacy version

If we can't still play it, then I would like to recommend that there be an option to where we can choose what world we want to make, like we can have the option of either going to the new seamless open world OR go to the old legacy version where we can still progress through different ages, unlock islands, and everything.

Right click your game on Steam and go to:

Properties > Beta > Beta Participation > Legacy

It will roll your game back to the legacy version and the island mode.
