I already posted in a discussion thread before that I enjoyed the core gameplay loop of Crucible's HOTH being farming, fighting for control over harvesters and upgrade objectives, fighting for the Hive heart and I already said I feel as though this core loop has to be refined. It's been a minute since I posted a discussion but I put a lot of thought into it and I think adjusting the flow of the game itself will bring Crucible a long way.

What I mean is, taking the spawn changes in consideration I believe the way objectives and creatures fit into the game need to be altered.

For starters I think the events where HP and Damage buffs spawn on the ground should be removed. there isnt much agency in these events and me and my friends tend to simply pick them up as they're along the way and the impact they provide is near unnoticeable.

Instead with events that involve capturing the unit (harvester master control, damage and health boosters) there should only be one of those to be captured and they should only spawn when a hive is not available. This will encourage more fights among casual players for these objectives where usually they are just taken when they are around the area.

I'm a big fan of the essence capture events so I feel those are fine.

In terms of the creature spawns I feel like it might be beneficial to turn certain into creature zones early. What I mean is that it might work better if rather than having the creatures spread out across the map there could be zones where only creatures spawn and within these areas you can also include events such as boss mobs where you can fight larger and more powerful variants of a creature in order to gain more essence. These monster spawns will incentivize players to break off and split up in order to farm that dedicated amount of essence and there can be situations where you determine whether it would be better to farm for the essence now or prioritize harvester control.

Just a few concepts I've been thinking about. They arent quite refined but I'm hoping this will spark a discussion since the thread has been kind of lacking the past week.

Thanks for writing out your thoughts! One of the big changes (that should hopefully help address this, if you had another idea, LMK!) we're going to be shifting the creatures into 'creature camps' and adding varied types of creatures in those camps to add more ways to play and engage with them.

You can check out some of the changes explained by a designer on our team at around the 29 min mark in this vod: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/667956909

As for the event feedback, thanks for letting us know! We'll be looking at a few adjustments on the system, so it's good to receive that feedback.
