Let's face it, having common drops, which you get hundred times more rarely than rare drop and even less often than epic is a problem which needs a fix. It's been in the game since I remember.

Basically I don't remember a single rare loot which I would need to go on a hunt for. I go on part-break pursuits only for common drops and sometimes for epic.

Some parts are almost impossible to hit, like limbs, since they are hidden behind other parts. Some are just too small. Some have wierdly positioned hitbox, like Shrowd feet, which are basically impossible to break with an axe. Some parts are just hard to hit, due to the nature of the fight, like Shrowd tail - you need to circle around the behemoth and the behemoth will rotate back to face you.

And the fix seems to be pretty easy - give those Kharabak/Reza claws, Shrowd legs less part-hp. If during the fight you are trying your best to hit behemoth head and hit it 200 times and then during next fight you aim for behemoth claw and hit it 10 times - then the claw should have 20 times less part-hp. That's it, just average it among all weapons.

For a rare loot from big front parts I just do hunts for whatever reason and get 100 of them automatically. But for a common loot from any other part I need to bring a specific weapon, and then do many attempts, first to learn how I can hit it (with no feed back from the game btw) and then to make both behemoth and party to do what I want. Thereby common drops require more skill and sometimes even more rng than rare/epic drops, and this should never be the case for whatever reason this happens.

I don't mind other solutions:

- make rare drops more rare. But even if you half their drop rate right now it just won't solve the problem, not even close.

- Change the name of those "common" drops to "epic".

- Increase hitbox of the parts.

- Make it so when you hit several parts with your swing all of them receive part damage, not only the first part. I would love it. But you would still need to rebalance part hp after than.

Just make it so that reward corresponds the difficulty and the time invested.

Totally agree! Lots of great analysis here. We actually just checked in a change that should address this, which is going into testing and should land in one of our upcoming patches.

The TLDR of the fix is, in addition to some tuning adjustments, we'll be guaranteeing that you receive the common for simply breaking the associated part. Your rares and epics will be dropped in addition to this baseline, at generally the same rates as you see today. We'll keep an eye on the hitboxes and see if we need a followup change after this one.

Hopefully when the change rolls out, you'll see an improvement to the targeted farming experience. I need those Shrowd Legs myself for my Hunger, so I'll be looking forward to it as well!
