Right now we're looking at meaningful ways to update escalation so players have reasons to play it. We do really want to complete the "set" eventually.

We'd certainly like to turn every behemoth variant into a full fledged behemoth with its own gear. We have to prioritize this against building new behemoths, so it's probably something we'll tackle slowly over the next while.

On guilds, we've talked about adding more functionality to this system for a long time but haven't been able to prioritize it over other features. Hopefully one day!

I mention guilds specifically because they've essentially been glorified friend lists in Dauntless for the longest time, and are a common feature in many MMOs.

Right now we're focusing on polishing the social experience first. Things like wonky UI, joining up on players, queueing up with your friends.

Once we smooth out the kinks, we'll look to the future.

For us, we're always trying to release really engaging content for all players, to flesh out our campaign but also give long time players more content to keep them playing for longer. We recently added Heroic Escalation and The Blazeworks to give end game players more challenging end game content. It's a good start but I think there's more we can do there.

Hellion was pretty frustrating for a while due to some optimizations that prevented molten hearts from spawning. Now they spawn again and we think the encounter is in a better spot but there are still some tweaks we'd like to do.

Valomyr is a pretty complicated behemoth and would need some time. We would like to revisit that encounter at some point once we have some time.

We don't feel like neutral has enough of an identity to ever make it a really exciting form of content and would rather invest more in stricter elemental gameplay.

We talk about new game modes all the time and pitch ideas internally. Game modes are a big investment and we don't want to water down the existing modes too much, so a lot of thought has to go into each new mode.

Yes! Rumours that are time-limited will have a timer on them and are generally only 1 stage long (and part of events).

We're loving the impact that Omnicells are having on build diversity and combat, so we want to keep making them until we start running out of ideas or feel like that space is getting saturated. We may also need to pause Omnicell development from time to time to focus on other areas like weapon refreshes or other types of content like exotics and lanterns. We're going to keep evaluating each season to see what makes the most sense and what excites players the most.

I can't answer for the others, but I really love the art style, especially in the environments. I think the aesthetic is just gorgeous. It's what struck a cord with me first.

For what I've worked on personally, I started writing for the game in June. Blazeworks was a big push to get some firm lore injected into the Hunting Grounds. I'm really proud of our buildup to the Phaelanx reveal. I had a lot of fun brainstorming/writing lore nodes, quests, lore blogs, and working with the artists/audio team to get some stuff into the environment (they're stupidly talented people). It was my first big substantial chunk of writing that made it into a game, and seeing players in-game run between lore nodes was amazing. Blazeworks will always hold a special place in my heart.

Also the three lore blogs leading up to TD Drask were really fun to write :D

Alright, another one popped up and this is a very old one that I can't recall if it was ever answered but here goes:

There's this one Facepaint that is always in the Store during Dark Harvest season called Harlequin and it's the only cosmetic that I can think of that has a "rent" system, i.e. you pay 50 Platinum (IIRC) to wear it but only for a specific duration (I think it was 1 week?). Why can't we just buy it for full price (150 Platinum) and let us keep it? What makes it so special for being the only one for rental use only?

That's a good question! That was a test and we haven't done it since. I'll poke some people to see where it went...

That's a hard question. I really like our environments and the stories they tell. We've also have been adding a lot more narrative elements to them over the past couple of patches that feel really nice and we've seen a lot of positive feedback.

frostwulf fits great, but e.g. flameborn and deepfrost gnashers? not so much. some like those feel like they're bound to be variants forever

Yep, that is something else we have to consider. We’ve talked about adding ways for players to control spawning of behemoths a bit more, like a bait system, but haven’t prioritized it yet.
