[2019] What's the point of part breaks if we don't use them in crafting?

I thought this was a monster hunting game, where you break the behemoths parts and craft armor/weapons.

But this patch makes it more like a Patrol crafting game.

Very weird choices in how the crafting has changed. I don't know about how many break parts you need to make a weapon +15, but seems like a side thought to getting all the Orbs/Arcstones needed.

Disappointed to see that from +10 to +15 all you need is Peerless Arcstone. WOW

There are also the Epic Shards but it didn't look like it drops from a specific part, just an RNG drop from part breaking/killing behemoth.

I don't even know what else to say. I like that i have stuff to do, but seems like the game keeps being dumbed down.

Few part breaks needed for crafting, no more Inspect feature, no more End Of Hunts teammates performance showing, still getting drops when failing hunts, idk if i should include perks being changed to +3, etc.

Hey! This is a great question.

As Xeliph called out elsewhere in the comments, this is partially to encourage queue health. If you had to exclusively farm a single behemoth for 100 hunts to max out their weapon, queues would get massively fragmented, and that problem would only get exacerbated as more behemoths were added to the game. Patrols are a balance against that.

Additionally, we think it would be somewhat fatiguing to fight a single behemoth 100 times in a row. We find that most people like a little more variety in their hunts.

We CERTAINLY want to make sure you've fought a Behemoth a bunch in order to build and max their gear. The whole premise of the game is building gear out of the parts of behemoths you've slain. We picked several keystone levels (+1, +6, +10) to require a variety of parts to make sure you've beaten the behemoth a number of times at each threshold of difficulty.

Maybe the balance is off? Perhaps we should require some parts at +15? Other levels? Definitely let us know what you think! This progression tuning is all VERY new.
