Hey guys! I know that this topic is absolutely 100% stupid, but this triggered me a lot...

When I was playing with some friends ( two on Pc, and the other one on Ps4), we noticed that the Xbox player icon on ps4 is an icon of a tower lying on the left side of the monitor, which on PC is just the Xbox logo, which makes sense to be the logo...

So why is there such a difference from PC to PS4?????

PS: I do not know how Xbox players see ps4, but if you know tell me please....

Probably part of the deal, not allowed to show playstation’s logo on xbox and vice versa

This is pretty close. There are trademark laws around what logos you can show. I also couldn't put an EA logo in our game without permission. Sony hasn't given us permission to use their marks outside of PC and PS4, and the same for Microsoft respectively.

Anecdotally, I did get permission to put Dickbutt in the game. So I did.

But under the restriction of not giving it to us I bet, which is why it's dev only ;-;

Naw that's entirely self imposed. It's super off brand and potentially something parents may be unhappy with their kids having. So I decided entirely unilaterally (trust me folks here want to give it to y'all) to keep it to Lobsters only.

We want dickbutt, we pay we say!

I mean, I wouldn't even know how to disclose that as an item for sale to the ESRB and PEGI... "Dick Butt is viral internet character who is a penis whose balls are a butt, within which is a smaller dick-butt. But it's so absurd that it's still totally Teen rated. Please don't make my game Adult Only, I promise it's not Porn"

So is there any way I could suggest the icon for the other consoles be changed a little? I play on Xbox and I find it hard to differentiate whether the other players are on pc or PS4. My problem might be an isolated case though because I have a pretty garbage tv and maybe I’m just blind lol

I'll talk to the team! Can't promise changes. The constraints are a bit more complex than I'm making them out to be.

I mean, one good one would be Partners and Mods. Partners are likely going to rarely use it because they have their own flares, but it'd be a nice gesture. I'd like to see it be a founder thing too, maybe to replace the forum badge? But then you still run into the same problem.

After all, if you have kids as your founders or mods, seems like a whoopsie on your part :P

I meant another Flare of similar or different origin that is less phallic. ;)

also happy to hear suggestions on Founder / mod / translators / etc getting more recognition tools that feel special.

It might be better to get rid of the logos differentiating systems entirely if you guys are noticing a lot of people being hostile or rude to others not on their system.

Personally I would love to be able to tell who’s on what so I know what I’m crossplaying with, makes it feel more community based that we’re all together regardless of system.

We've not receive many accounts of toxicity at all.

Quite the opposite, folks who play with folks from other platforms report significantly higher enjoyment and have deeper friend groups.

Clarity in the logos is tough because of the trademark laws. Generally if it's something you associated strongly with a platform (like a logo or word) it's almost certainly trademarked and we'd be using it without permission, in that context.
