[2020] Long time Monster Hunter player here. I can't stop playing.

Seriously, this game is incredibly addicting. It's very fast paced and rewards skilled aggressive styles of playing. I mained Great Sword in MHW and also Hammer in MH3U. But with this game I enjoy the fluidity of the war pike. Honestly though, I enjoy every weapon in this game.

I started last weekend on Sunday and since It was memorial day Monday I got a nice chunk of hunting time in. Currently sitting at a mystery level of 20 and at 16 on my hunting pass.

Consider me hooked. I can't wait to get off work and hunt some more!

Edit: Going to bed dreaming of making a new set for the hammer. It's incredibly powerful. I am converted!

Your comparative comments are humbling. We are all fans of the MH games and consider ourselves to be standing on the shoulders of giants.

You are seeing some old assumptions in design that remain in the game. I don't want to speak for our designers, but this is an area of gameplay we want to address in the future.
