Hey everyone, I just wanted to touch base with you on the next steps for hotfixes, 1.5.1, feedback, and data. We’ve been reading A LOT of your comments and we’re eager to iterate on Reforged.

First up, we’re tracking our live bugs and issues on Trello. You can find all the major and minor bugs there, but let’s go over the major culprits here.

  • 1.5.1 will address some of these bugs, and that patch is slated to go out on Dec 17.
  • We’re also discussing a hotfix that would go out between now and 1.5.1, but we’re still determining which issues can be addressed this way.

Bugs and Issues

Greyed Out Quests

There is a bug that is causing players Hunts to be greyed out and inaccessible. This is due to where they are in their quest progression, and we are working on a fix for 1.5.1 (or potentially a hotfix before then). We’re still investigating user accounts to pinpoint the issue since it varies from player to player depending on their quest states.

Missing Break Parts

We will be running a second migration in order to credit missing break parts from escalation Behemoths. This is a bit tricky, so bear with us while we organize and execute on this second migration.

Missing Slayer’s Path XP

Some players are reporting that they weren’t given Slayer’s Path XP. We are currently investigating and will include granting the missing XP in the server hotfix.

Incorrect Node Costs

Some nodes on the Slayer’s Path have the wrong costs and are more expensive than they should be. We will fix these in 1.5.1 and are looking into a way to refund the difference to any players who purchased these nodes.

Behemoths Don’t Drop Rams

Right now, Behemoths aren’t dropping Rams, which is making progression harder than it should be. This will most likely be fixed in 1.5.1.

Standard Repeater Barrel and Prisms

The standard repeater barrel and all prisms can’t be power-surged at this time. Since prisms are tied to UE effects, we will be changing this in 1.5.1 so players can increase their power.

The Mane Attraction

Currently, this quest is not showing you the correct waypoint marker, so it’s causing players to get stuck. If you’re one of these players, go visit Rosk on the Training Grounds island. This will be addressed in 1.5.1.

Feedback

Too Many Cores

We’re seeing a lot of feedback around the volume and organization of cores. Seems like it’s a bit overwhelming right now so we’re discussing solutions such as removing them from Patrol Chests. To compensate for this, we will slightly increase Ram rewards from this source. If this isn’t enough, we will consider removing cores from other sources and replacing them with Rams as well.

EDIT: We have heard your feedback on this and agree! Unlocking cores takes too dang long and that's the real issue! We're discussing this now and this is just a quick, first step to alleviate the problem in the meantime.

Too Few Rams

General feedback is that Rams are now too rare. We’re discussing this internally and looking into solutions and potential balancing changes. Right now, we’re considering increasing Rams from island events. Fixing the aforementioned Behemoth Ram drops will also help with this.

Migration Amounts

We’re hearing from a lot of you that the migration was not generous enough. We’re talking about crediting more currencies in order to get everyone on their way. We’re discussing amounts right now, so stay tuned!

Higher Difficulty/XP Islands for Final Levels

We’re hearing (and feeling) that the current islands in Hunting Grounds do not provide a valuable area for the last few levels of weapon XP progression. We’re having discussions about bumping up the max level on the last couple of islands in order to give high-level players a way to max out their XP gain rate. We’re also going to up the XP for higher-level Behemoths. Unfortunately, these changes did not make it into 1.5.1 and will come at a later date. We managed to get the change in for higher XP Behemoths for 1.5.1! We will also iterate on the higher level islands post 1.5.1 as well.

General Confusion

We’ve been hearing that the new systems aren’t being explained well enough in-game. We’re discussing ways to communicate how reforging, power surging, and the Slayer’s Path all tie together for new and old players alike. There are a lot of new systems here, and we want to do our best to explain them and reduce confusion for players. We’re discussing a handful of UI changes to help communicate these features while also making them easier to navigate.

Data

We’re reading a ton of feedback and making actions around them, but another big part of this is data. Feedback is doing a terrific job at helping us target pain points, and once we have them locked in, we investigate using data analysis. Once these steps are done, we begin to figure out an action plan.It will take a little longer to collect a good subset of data, but we’re currently looking at things like time on islands, combat stats, rams in and out, session length, and generally seeing how fast players are progressing through the new systems. Future iterations will take into account feedback AND data to verify player behaviour alongside sentiment.Thank you all for playing Reforged and letting us know how you feel. The experiences I've seen people talking about aren't relating to getting too many cores, but rather to having to open them all individually. that was fine back when they were more rare, but now we can easily have upwards of 20-30 cores after a mere 40 minutes farming and opening all of that one at a time is time consuming and frankly, very boring.

Most people seem to just want an "open all" option for the cores, not to receive less.

Not being able to see other Slayers Markers when they are Downed is getting really tiresome too. This one causing myself to run around aimlessly looking for that one Slayer passed out in a bush/long grass is funny the first few times but gets old fast.

This should be fixed in 1.5.1! :)

I was hesitant at first, but I have really been enjoying dauntless reforged now that I have put some time in to understand it. My only gripe not mentioned by this post is the performance glider is waaaaaay slower than the lightweight frame glider. Please either change the performance glider, or let us choose which one we want to use. Overall though, this patch is awesome!

The glider inconsistency should be fixed in 1.5.1. :)

Another bug that I don't see being mentioned: Character wide +1% power boosts from Axe reforge and the individual weapon +5 power boots do not actually increase your power or is not showing the power increase anywhere on any ui between the equipment/blacksmith/pre hunt screens.

Edit: Tested it with another weapon and I can see that it is increasing dps and is purely a ui issue. Thanks for mentioning that.

We didn't get the UI updates in time. Will come in a future update.

I mean my issue isn't "too many", it's the fact i can't open them all at once.

I have no desire to sit there and open 68 of them one by one.

When did you last play the game before this bug? We are looking into reports of this and want to make sure we find all cases and fix them.

In addition to the escalation bosses, I found that Drask parts did not migrate with the update for me, I've had the Drask equipment +15 for months but now they're stuck at 20 power until I grind 20 more epic drops.

We’ve found the cause of this and are working on a new migration that should grant you the parts.

Having a similar progression issue as well. I played in Beta/Launch and quit a month after when I completed everything to do in the game. So all Quests were done, all Islands were unlocked, all behemoths were killed and all Armor/Weapons were crafted.

Now I only have one quest, "Cellular Regheneration," which wants me to open the Cell Exchange Interface and I can not do so. My Entire Slayer path tree is locked, which is likely the issue as nothing carried over in the conversion I guess. I also have no access to ANY hunts at all besides the training island with NO Behemoths on it, so I have no way to earn EXP and unlock nodes manually either. I guess I can't play at all for a while until you fix this.

We're working on a hot fix for the blocking issues and we'll have further fixes in 1.5.1. Hopefully this addresses your issues, but if it doesn't, please contact customer support so we can see how to resolve.

Isn't there a way to retrigger the quest for people that haven't unlocked the node yet the unlock Training Island one. Or is that oversimplifying things?

In my Slayers Way, the very first big node is available, but can't be completed. Since the tutorial is needed to complete it, but I never got to do it, just spawned right into town after logging in for the first time. That's where it's stuck.
My possible solution as a layman would be: make the node so that it starts the tutorial when selected and everything might work as intended from there.

We're working on a hotfix for this and have some additional fixes in the next patch. If that doesn't resolve your issue, please contact customer service and we'll try to sort you out.

The 1.5.1 patch will give you Rams and Exploration Merits to unlock the first island. But you can contact CS to get that faster to unblock you.
