[2020] Disabling Trials Leaderboards

Hey friends!

We want to give an update about the current state of the Trials leaderboard. There is currently an exploit that is being used to get very fast Trials times, and we totally hear you that this is frustrating. For that reason we are turning off the Trials leaderboards now, and will leave them off until we have a fix live.

Currently we have the exploit fixed and slated for 1.2.3 (May 15th), however we are also actively working to see if we can get it fixed even sooner than that via hotfix. We will of course keep you in the loop.

The reason we created Trials is to have a competitive mode in Dauntless, and it allowing an exploit like this to skew times does not align with that spirit.

We will keep you posted on if a hotfix is viable. Sorry for any frustration you've had around this - we hear you and we appreciate you voicing your concerns to us.

Edit: I have seen some confusion about this so to clear it up: Anyone who would have gotten a Trials reward will still get that reward. <3

I assume you're kidding, but in case you are not: This is on us, not on anyone in the community.

We needed to set the precedent that when there are exploits that undermine the competitive nature of the gamemode that we take action to stop it and fix it as soon as possible.

You will still get your rewards from your time on the Quillshot trial if you ended in the top 100. The leaderboards are disabled, but they are not deleted.
