Seriously, I really enjoy the game but the dodging, and "get back up" animations along with the iframes are so jacked up now since they sped up monster animations and the amount of attacks/combos. They were all initially a bit slower or attacked less often.

The iframes in Dauntless don't kick in until the latter half of the animation, which is part of the issue - but it's also a problem that there is not ample time for animations to finish before monsters are now able to either attack again or combo. And of course, perhaps the biggest issue (that likely might be the cause of all this) is that hit detection is server side - so there's a delay in pretty much everything regardless of what you see on your screen. This is the reason for getting hit randomly when you think you dodged something, or when there is a delayed KO.

People who are defending this really need to play some other games and understand that if you do an update to your mobs, you need to adequately update the player as well.

TL;DR: Dodging, animations, and iframes are screwed because mobs animations were boosted to 1.5x and players still have them at 1x. Also iFrames don't kick in until second half of animation - which is then luck based due to the speed of monster animations, because we essentially need to compensate for "internal input lag"

Hey!! First of all I am really excited you're so passionate about Dauntless. I can't tell you how much it means to have people love our game & want it to be better.

A similar discussion to this came up the other day, so I wanted to be sure to link to a great response in that thread from another dev at the studio: https://www.reddit.com/r/dauntless/comments/bzvmmp/why_i_dont_like_dauntless/er2t1r3

We are always looking for ways to improve, not just our game but also our transparency about what goes into our game and what we are doing to improve. Thank you again for your passion and your patience ❤️

If you could capture some footage where you're seeing muffling, we can dive into it with you!

We also duck the sound during a big hit from a behemoth to the player in order to increase the overall impact of the hit. Is that what you're referencing?
