Greetings Slayers!

Welcome to the Focused Feedback thread where we present a featured topic for you to share your thoughts on in a centralized fashion. For this cycle, we will be putting a hold to our weekly topic voting as the topics for the following weeks will be reserved for the upcoming Trials behemoths. This thread is dedicated to all your feedback and serves as a centralized hub for the developers to gather your responses.

Our topic for this week: Rogue Elements Hunt Pass

The Rogue Elements Hunt Pass has landed and marks the return of the armor cosmetic in the basic track for free-tier players. In the past week, a lot of you have been making impressive fashion posts showcasing the new cosmetics. This week, the devs are curious to know about your thoughts on the current Hunt Pass and how they can integrate more unique elements into it.

  • What are your thoughts on this Hunt Pass' cosmetics and theme?
  • Which item from the Hunt Pass track did you like the most and why?
  • Did you purchase any of the Hunt Pass cosmetics sold in the store?
  • What are your thoughts so far on these Seismic contracts? How do you feel about the approach of releasing them over a period of time?
  • How do feel with the idea of having these contracts as a regular part of Hunt Passes moving forward?
  • Did you find the cosmetics designs that drew inspiration from real world sources, such as the Guerrilla Headband and Ballistic Repeaters
, appealing? Why or Why not?

Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below. Organize and format your feedback well and you may just receive a response from the devs themselves! 😎

Submissions related to the topic will be removed and redirected here. The comments will be displayed via contest mode which hides comment vote score and displays them in a randomized order to give each feedback a chance to be seen.

Just meh, they were not my cup of tea.

Which item from the Hunt Pass track did you like the most and why?

This season I'm only using the Free track and the best there were Platinum (now I get them while not spending any) and Ace Chips. If I have to pick just one then definitely Platinum.

Did you purchase any of the Hunt Pass cosmetics sold in the store?

Nope. Just like with the Hunt Pass' cosmetics they weren't my style.

What are your thoughts so far on these Seismic contracts? How do you feel about the approach of releasing them over a period of time?

Not a fan to be honest. It's somehow confusing. I didn't get the idea how to get the Seismic Intel until I took a look in the Hunt Pass and found a Contract in the Store. Not sure when exactly new Contracts are available.

How do feel with the idea of having these contracts as a regular part of Hunt Passes moving forward?

I hope this won't be a regular thing in the future, unless it's improved to be less confusing and more fun to do.

I couldn't see the Headband properly as it's hidden under the hair, so I have no comment on that. The Ballistic Repeaters were creative but felt somewhat out of place in Dauntless. Nothing really bad, but also not great Imo.

This is great feedback, thanks! I totally hear you on the contracts. We're cooking up a new system for delivering those kinds of seasonal quests

Cool hunt pass, nice mogs no complaints.

Missing banner plant makes me cry a little.

Loved you added vault coins as rewards.

Contracts are meh... A kill quest... Snore, make it so I have to hunt a certain behemoth or have one guarding some Intel I need to investigate, I like the idea of it leading up to an event like escalations but loads of cool stuff could of been done, missed oportunity.

Investigating Intel should be... Investigating Intel, clues like feathers or spines from a new unreleased behemoth you find while out on hunts.

Yeah! Very cool suggestion. We've used a lot of kill quests and it's clear there's room there to build some exciting new objectives. Thanks for dropping your feedback!

The contracts according to the blog post are going to be added weekly, so we should be able to claim a new one later today/tomorrow.

That's true -- but the fact that some players aren't aware is still good feedback for us to take away! Thanks for clarifying, though :)

Its nice overall just one thing about ultra armor, some part of the set cannot be colored it sucks for a elite armor then cannot color some part it dont feel like worth the elite status

and for the Hunt Pass cosmetics sold in the store, i did not buy any it feels like overprice and not worth the plat

Thank you for the feedback! It's good to know what makes an elite armor FEEL elite.

As u/jordanpowpow mentions elsewhere, this will be the last Hunt Pass to rely on Contracts as a means of progressing the story. They have been a useful workaround for releasing quests at more specific or controlled times, but we now have a system in place that allows for more flexibility and won't require store interaction. So get ready for more story-driven quests tied to the Hunt Pass in the future, but not the store.

As for the Intel, we are working on some things very much along the lines of what you describe. Lore objects (name TBD) will, in the the coming months (I can't yet be more specific) be part of our new Journal system. You want lore? Intel? Stories? We are slowly but surely opening the nozzle on that firehose of information and I couldn't be happier about it.

Even before we bring in the lore objects we aim to have Journal entries that are straight-up illustrated narrative (one of our new artists whose reddit handle I don't have has done some brilliant work I can't wait for you to see), specific lore and combat tips for Behemoths, deeper bios for NPCs, weapon lore, history, just so much stuff. We've been cooking up these things for some time, and it's all now starting to come to fruition.

And note that the Journal will be its own separate interface separate from the Quest Log. If lore's not your bag, you can keep it separate from your Bounty and Quest lists.

Although this will be the last HP with Contract-driven narrative, if it helps: The Seismic Contracts will be dropping weekly. As you earn Seismic Intel there and elsewhere you'll start to unlock separate, story-based quests. These aren't time-gated by the calendar so much as they're gated by the amount of Intel you've collected--but since the contracts *are* looking at the calendar, we were aiming to keep the story coming over a longer period of time.

But if wishes were fishes we'd all cast nets, as my favourite baliset player once said, and intentions don't equal reception (Gurney Halleck didn't say that part, I added it). So we've taken the feedback on Contracts to heart and are going to work hard to improve the narrative flow for the future Hunt Passes. You'll see some big changes in the HP that follows Rogue Elements--in addition to the new Journal feature, we can now time the release of quests without forcing interaction with the store. That alone should be a big help flow-wise, but please keep our feet to the fire on this. Along with our new Senior Narrative Designer, John Stumme (we worked together a looong time ago on Guild Wars!) I'm going to do my best to make Dauntless storytelling more interesting, fun, and accessible.
