I used to play dauntless a lot and quit the game back when the aether strikers were the best weapon, I was just wondering if that is still the case or if there’s a new best weapon to use?

External link →Repeaters, Strikers, Sword, Pike, and Hammer all show up in top 3 in the last 5 solo trials. Chainblades still pulling top 20s, so certainly aren't bad.
Axe benefits from charging up so doesn't compete well with others in trials but is good for things like Escalations as you can charge it up in the first round and smash the later rounds pretty hard.
Basically a lot is playing what's fun for you and what you're comfortable with. So when people say it's what you're most comfortable with, the data backs that up pretty well. If you're competing for #1 trial it may vary slightly trial to trial but isn't something to think about until you're pulling at least top 50 and have a better idea of what it takes to get to the very top.
If you're top 50 trials you also shouldn't find switching up what weapon you use as difficult as when you're new. A lot of top trials players use several weapons.
