I heard there will be some work put into trials next year, but I if there is more info than that, I haven't seen it and I didn't find a thread about it.

Now, I'm not here to make an statement about the current state of trials of how they should be in the future, but I would like to ask what others players would like to see in the new trials.

1) Should trials be harder, or have a harder tier available?

2) Are you happy with just time attack? have any ideas for another kind of challenge that could be featured in trials besides speedrunning?

3) What do you think about the current trials rewards? should there be more of them? should they be harder / easier to get?

Personally, I don't get into the leaderboards but I can get a sub 3 whith a few tries and its nice to rest from the H+ grinding with trials, so an even harder challenge could be fun.

For the second question, I think more challenges could make more players try their skill. I would like to see something like an arena against multiple behemoths, but each new behemoth would enter the arena after a timer that gets shorter with each one whether you have defeated the previous behemoth or not. Maybe you could even be teleported to the esca bosses's arenas after every X fights, so the more skilled players can go through the whole roster.

About the rewards, I think they are fine as they are and you need a certain level of skill to get most of them.

Also sorry for the crude english and may your future be full of boops.

I do not think Trials ought to change how it works at a fundamental level. Fights rotate on a timed basis, beat fights to earn marks, spend marks in the trials store for exclusive pieces of kit or cosmetics.

The main problems of trials are, in my mind:

  1. Normal Trials do not rotate quickly enough to engage most players uninterested in the competitive mode.
  2. Dauntless Trials rotate too quickly to make the mode something the community can latch onto.
  3. Fights are poorly put together with modifiers that seem more tacked on for frustration's sake than being finely crafted and considered fight conditions.

As such, what I would like to see is not some kind of "boss rush" mode, as that's covered by Escalations, but rather:

  1. Normal Trials rotate daily and only reward completion, not specific time thresholds.
  2. Dauntless Trials rotate on a monthly basis, with two weeks having no Dauntless Trial available at all (which is important in a post-1.5 world where you're constantly resetting your skill levels in order to progress) and two weeks having a single, well-crafted fight available competitively to make it an event and serious competitive mode.
  3. Take the time available on the Dauntless rotation to carefully craft a fight that is worth the time people spend on it and which is not filled with messy oneshot random bullshit.

This is super useful, thank you!! <3

Thanks so much for posting this, it has sparked some convos already (with more to come after 1.5.0)!
