Hey there folks!
I know that we have already been polled about the vault on the megathread, and probably the devs already have changes in mind, but here are some suggestions for changes I would like to see implemented for the vault.
The issue - the vault is WAAAAAAAAAAAY too expensive. To get 500 coins, you have to complete 100 prestige levels (I'm sure we have all done the math). That is double the amount of xp that was required for most items that cost 500 (in some cases, such as this week, the emote wasn't even a level 50 emote), and as salt in the wound you don't get anything else along the grind (as you would have back in the day) AND you have to do this all on top of the current hunt pass.
I have been grinding H+ nonstop (I just learned normal trials are better time-wise, so I'm going to switch to that), and I'm at about 375. I haven't bought anything from the vault yet. I don't dare, lest I miss out on the few things I really really really want, due to the insane price tags attached. I haven't played much of any other game at all during this time, and honestly, I'm getting really tired of playing the exact same thing for hours.
I put some thought into it, and here is the solution I came up with:
Firstly, for each prestige level, you get 10 coins (3 on the basic track, 7 on the elite track). This cuts the number of levels required for an item that costs 500 coins down to 50, making it closer to its original cost of time and effort.
Secondly, add in a system of daily quests and weekly quests. Sort of a throwback to the old reputation based system (except they'd be more like contracts, in that you'd need to go to a quest giver). Dailies would be something relatively easy, but might make you step outside your usual box, and reward 10 coins (one level). Something like get three wounds on a behemoth in one fight. Weeklies would be a bit more challenging, like maybe wound every part of a behemoth before killing it, and reward something like 30 or 50 coins. Both types of quest would be open to players at any stage of the game, mechanically speaking. They could be flavorful, throw a bit of lore in there, and help us feel like we're doing something. This would help spice up the grind a LOT. They could be locked behind hp level 50, or available constantly. One or both types could be locked behind the elite track.
Thirdly, bring back xp part drops, those were super fun. To balance them, they wouldn't have to be worth a ton, and the flat xp from hunts could be lowered a bit too. This could help bring back the excitement of getting a drop for older players.
Please consider some or all the above. I love Dauntless, and above all else I want to see it succeed, and grow, and flourish.
