A number of suggestions to adding in new content
------------------------------------------------
- You can continually upgrade your armor and weapons. You also get flat level increases.
- Think of armor upgrades as like WoW's ILvl system and level increases similar to the paragon system from Diablo 3. Basic af systems, these are just examples.
- You only get flat level increases per 1 presitige, once all weapons are level 10. This gives more incentive to level all weapons initially, and then continue Prestiging, because it's absolutely useless as a system. Literally, no one cares about the 5% passive bonus on whichever weapon. You can literally just max out your tonics in the slayer tree and run a +6 catalyst build. Done. No need for those passives. Even without Catalyst, they're still useless and PHX Labs knows this.
- Since this is a new power system, you'd want amounts of experience required to increase per level or the overall amount rewarded is decreased per level. I liked how we use to get presitige levels for our weapons. Maybe something like that?
-This is similar to the Diablo 3 Paragon System. Gives you reasons to keep playing, there's always something to work towards that benefits you. Not just "fashion".
-Armor Upgrades are like WoW's Ilvl system. If you gather enough materials, fight harder behemoths and complete certain challenges, you can then upgrade your armor/weapons. Do like 1-2 levels for each item per upgrade. A full set is 5 pieces including the weapon. It could take a while. Multiple sets are common in this game. Will keep the player busy. You can throttle the amount of materials and quests to gain a level. It can mostly be "Kill X 20 times", instead of 15 epic drops, you need 25 now for the upgrade.
-You can even have a rotation of like 5 quest chains, that rotate as you level. Just to add variety to the game. They can reward Experience, Rams, tonics, and materials. Actual tangible crap here. Not a fancy looking piece of armor that is useless otherwise.
*How would this work with other players and behemoth scaling?
-When you queue up you're thrown into a pool. "This person is ILvl 43, better group them up with the ILvl 25-50 range." I say that because I think the game is dead enough now, that they'd need larger ranges to pull from. You can even factor in their Paragon level. ILvl 43(with 25-50 bracket) and Paragon Level 6(1-10 paragon bracket). Paragon levels SHOULD be slower, because over time they become the most powerful.
-And you can cap the amount of ILvl and Paragon for each season or range of patches.
-Add in a tool for group making or finding groups. So we can make our own groups if we get to a higher level and be specific in who we bring. With private hunts coming back, what would hurt in allowing us to do this?
-Add in trading. We CAN'T BUY MATERIALS from the cash shop, so why not let us trade them? If we're able to keep upgrading them, then trading shouldn't be an issue, because we're always getting them. This also adds an economy to the game. We use these materials to upgrade our gear. You're giving people more reasons to interact with one another. Like actually interact.
-Have GUILDS make more sense. They're just a hangout spot.. They do nothing other than flex I guess?? I dunno, I've always solo'd the game.
-Add in weapon class mechanics? Swords cause bleed/poison damage. Hammers stagger for LONGER periods of time. Chainblades cause bleed damage / wound damage. Axes have largest crits. Strikers and so on.. I dunno, I feel these could be creating more roles to be played. Maybe you want to stun a behemoth longer in certain parts of a fight and have someone be a more dedicated healer. MAKING USE OF THE OTHER 70% of Cells no one uses, to make unique builds with. Have a more tankier builds, because of specific attacks the behemoth does(2 newer attacks?), otherwise it wipes the group. Have a tankier slayer, tank those big hits. etc.
-We literally just bash a behemoth to death.. there is no strategy, there is no coordination, there is no real teamwork. You just bash on it together. That's it and then move on.. really exciting sh*t there..
**But what about the Behemoths?
-Behemoths will scale up per ILvl bracket, average Paragon Level bracket, and amount of players in the group.
-Reskin everything. Since you're not really making enough Behemoths to keep the game fresh. It's been the same behemoths for the most part, for the past 2 years. Aside from a few variants and some keystone behemoths. Other than that, it's literally been the same behemoths, just "re-arranged" not reforged.
-Just reskin everything and add a new attacks and dodges to them. Maybe even new attacks as they become more powerful(with higher ilvl/paragon lvl groups). See what I'm doing here? I'm suggesting you just take the far easier route, re-skin, add some animations and re-use the content you already have. You do anyways. Make this your primary objective as a means to get a ton of content out, because guess what? It's not floating islands or moving through arenas to a keystone boss that keeps up engaged.
-It's fighting the behemoths themselves. That's what the game was about and should still be about. Let's be real here. It's all about getting new armor skins and getting other useless crap now. Looking cool does not necessarily equal good player btw.
-Make the stuns harder to hit and last longer, knockouts harder to do, with wound damage make them actual weaker in certain areas, so we can focus on them, and make elemental damage do more. Fire should do a lot more damage to a frost behemoth and have uniquely damaging effects.
-Allow behemoths to be slowed or trapped.
-Make behemoth variant Lanterns.
-For each Season, add in a new behemoth variant or two even. Just something new so the players feel they're getting something out of it and something new to pursue. There's literally just 50 levels of "eh" stuff and then really sh*tty vault options?? I mean come on, put more items in there and rotate them out faster.
-Behemoth variants have their own armors, you could literally have every element for each behemoth as an armor set. This mitigates the headache that is cells 2.0 and building a million new behemoths. You just add in a ton of new armor, that has unique properties to them. I say just add in more cells too, maybe a cap of +9 might be a good thing? Or maybe higher than that?
-This would make it to where you might want to take more Ragehunter to a fight than Overpower.. It could vary, but right now I can run +6 RH, +6 Rage, +6 Overpower, +6 IB, +3 Beserking, +3 Disc, +3 Wild Frenzy, +3 Cata and absolutely 1) solo everything and 2) melt sh*t while easily staying alive.
-Trials. Have brackets for each weapon and then overall fastest time. The overall fastest times get put on the Top 100 leaderboard and for each weapon bracket, give them a unique title?
-Also award more Gilded Marks for placing in the Top 100(s) and if we keep getting better times, give us more gilded ones. If I'm at 1:15 on a behemoth and I shave that off by 5 seconds, then award 5 per second. It can only go so high each week...
-Make the Trials gear mean MORE. If I'm rocking gold strikers, then I should not only look more bad ass, but maybe do special attacks, or have a certain bonus. Make the gear feel worth it. None of it does and looks terrible. At least redo the Trials armor. YOU SHOULD look like a badass in Trials gear. No one wears that sh*t.
-Add in the content and THEN throw in your cosmetics on top of it.
-ALSO, LET US BUY TONICS WITH RAMS.. WTF
P.S- I got the gold crown ages ago, migration gave me damn near everything. Veteran former player here. I quit and uninstalled the game about 6 weeks ago. I just check in from time to time here. The game is in a horrible state, could be a lot better with faster options to putting out new content.
