What is Dauntless Experimental?

In case you're not familiar, Dauntless Experimental is a public test realm that we have up and running on Epic. It allows us to share what we are working on before it goes into the live game so that we can hear community feedback early. Dauntless Experimental is not under NDA.

Who is Invited?

Every Dauntless player who has their language set to English and is playing on PC has Dauntless Experimental in their library, but only people who have a test available to them will be able to launch the Dauntless Experimental build.

What are we Testing?

This time around we have invited a random sample of players (from early to late game) to test out Hunting Grounds — including island events and gliders.

Last Dauntless Experimental we tested out the base glider, so this time testers will have a level 2 glider equipped! For context: in the live game gliders will be upgraded through Slayers Path progression rather than granted at a specific level.

If you did not get into this test, don't worry! There will be more tests soon.

If you did get into this test, you will have an invite in your Dauntless in-game inbox. Once you download and launch the Dauntless Experimental build you will find more specific test instructions there. Feel free to leave feedback in this thread or as a reply to the in-game surveys.

As always things in Dauntless Experimental are subject to change. Some features may not make it into the live game, or may look different than what was tested on Dauntless Experimental.

Bet I'm not invited for the 3rd time in a row. So maybe I shouldn't bother updating that Experimental Build once again, it takes forever to install the update.

You don't have to update Experimental to see if you're in, you can also check in your in-game mailbox in the live game to see if you have an invite message.

Oh. Thought the notification was only available as a pop-up message when you try log into Experimental build, then when you get in-game in that build you get a mail with details in the Inbox. Don't know how I came to that conclusion.

Thanks for telling me! That saves me some time. :)

No problem at all!! Yeah Experimental has a more in-depth message about what we are testing, but the live game inbox gets a shorter "hey you're invited" message so that we save people frustration <3
