Alright I don't know who decided this is such a big deal but before I start let me just screams at the top of my lungs… Aether is magic don't @ me I won't hear it! It just is! It's magic with extra steps! It's the Midioclorians of the Shattered Isles! I don't get why it's such a big issue! Now let me explain exactly how the Aether Deck is somehow conceivably not magic!

So it's you! Yes you! The guy gal or non binary pal that wants a Hunting Horn! Harp Bow! Flute Sword! Support Shaman! We all know you're not here for the musical ability, you don't want to rave on the hunt you want BUFFS GLORIOUS BUFFS! Well boy howdy do I got a thing for you!

Introducing the Aether Deck! This is a bunch of cards not a Skateboard!

Do you want to be a cross between everyone's second favourite X-Man (I'm sorry Fox just pushed Wolvie too hard for most people to pick anyone else) and a fortune teller!? Slinging Cards, casting rituals, slaying Behemoths, buffing slayers, slaying slayers, buffing rituals, casting behemoths and slinging slayers! This weapon type can guarantee upwards of one of these things!

Draw a five card hand when you unsheathe your weapon which you play in order from left to right displayed on your handy Hand Gauge!

You don't need that card, yeet it a small distance at the Behemoth using light attack, the further you are the more chance the Card will just curve off into a random direction increasing your risk of pissing off a nearby Battle Ram! Want to use that buff? Store it in your ritual slot below the hand gauge using heavy attack! Got three cards for buff you like! Chaching baby! Cast it with the Special button? Simple right!? WRONG! But we'll get to that later! First here comes the Lore part!

"But Skytuturu that makes no sense in the games canon, it's just blatant magic!" Shut up did you not hear me about the magic Lucas germs! Well fine! Okay, let me spin you some bullsh*t that would make the Apricot Hate Beast himself proud! And it starts with two words! THE FARSLAYER! Seems fairly obvious everyone's favourite Feral Princess turned Behemoth pit fighter has been holding out on us, time to go on a quest for some Secret Aether sensitive Tree Bark aka convenient plot device material that came from her homeland, and has suddenly started to show up on the Shattered Isles because "I don't know!" And you're suddenly ready to start your deck! Rub a chunk of Skarn rock on this bark and BAM you get 2 things, a Skarn projectile card and if you're lucky a Skarn defensive card (or whatever buff you feel like might fit). A Quillshot quill? Quillshot projectile card and a Quillshot Stun Damage card? I dunno go nuts making these things up!

Your Deck holster and Ritual Board (I'm thinking Yu-Gi-Oh style) type dictates your card strength, element, unique effect, look, card back, and what flavour your projectile cards are by constantly rubbing them with the juicy juicy excess Aether!

The deck itself, well time to relive your schoolyard nightmares because we about to catch em all and look for that rare shiny Malkerion your friend inexplicably had because their Dad worked at Nintendo but looking back it was obviously fake!

Start your deck off with some Recruit Cards!

This is your basic white flavour pack with vanilla projectiles and some Battle Ram booster ritual cards that will charge up your next single shot when 3 of them are used from your ritual board.

Move up through the elemental behemoths to make your Neural projectiles whatever element the holster is but this won't change what those rams do oh no! You craft Behemoth cards separately and build your own deck! Want some attack buffs in your deck!? Punch some Embermanes in the face, rub some bark on them slap that bad boy in your deck! Attack speed? Punch a Stormclaw rinse repeat!

"But Skytuturu!" I'm fed up of hearing already "what if I just stuffed the deck with all buff cards?" Good question YOU CAN'T! You see every buff card is linked to its projectile card by I dunno like… Aether Karma or something, look Xelya isn't likely to explain it just let it go! That means if you want to stuff in enough ritual cards for a thing in the deck you have to have 3 projectile cards to balance it out! Meaning the more buffs you try to stuff in that bloated deck the more junk you have to yeet at the Behemoth to get to it! Keep your deck lean and you can cycle your buff nice and quick!

"But Skytuturu!" WHAAAAAAT! "You said buffing wasn't that simple" oh yeah, I forgot about that slapnuts! Rituals are cool and easy but only work on you, I know big downer! You want them to work on other people? Sorry chief I'm afraid you gonna have to put a projectile card in that ritual, so you can throw a weaponised version of the buff at 60% strength at the Slayer you want to buff! Increasing your chances of getting that little kissy face emoji in the process!

But it's not all buffs for you DPS nuts out there how about some damage rituals! Yeah that's the juicy stuff right!? Stick some ultra rare chocolaty fudge flavour shiny cards in there to also add some special rituals to your deck! Koshai!? A huge amount of wound damage on whatever part it hits! Hellion!? How about a huge spike of fire damage! Not interesting enough!? Okay Razakiri summon on entire decks worth of light flavoured projectiles that hit in a spread shot!

So Slayers if you're willing to accept just a little soft magic (Devs I'm looking at you! It already is!) The possibilities are endless… well nearly endless… they're no Battle Ram!

Look I didn't crunch the numbers I just glanced at them and made the joke, I'm right there with you (except if there is ever a Battle Ram X-Man then I'm contractually obligated to think that is the coolest) you don't see me pitching any Wolverine claws at you guys... Yet 🤔

Hold on I have ideas... Wanders off Wils how many swords can you weld to one handle?

Actually. Glob is the best. It's a fact. I love him.
