With a game like DRG exploding in popularity, ive started to visit the community discord a lot more. It seems pretty official from stories ive heard and its integration into the game so ill go out on a limb and say its connected to the developers.
My experience in there has been mixed more to the toxic vibe. It seems like there is little to no actual moderation in there where people can flame and sh*tpost each other with no repurcussions, then when you arent aware of a "forbidden meme" you get a bunch of comments deleted without a word and have to make a scene trying to get any mods attention to explain why youve been censored.
When you have people that run your community that act toxic and perpetuate toxic behavior, it tells the community thats ok to do it. Deep Rock greatly benefits from people getting along and working together, especially since the game has become so popular, having moderators that join in on harassing people and sh*tposting only sets a bad example. I see moderators as an extention of the devs when all of this is so intimately intertwined.
If "1Tater" (Tater#6992) is going to represent you as a mod, he should be treated as a representative of your company and should act accordingly. Additionally, if you have systems that allow people to be constantly flamed or rediculed you need more active moderation. If there are clear rules on your server and you equally enforce them, it makes the community a better place.
