Okay so last night I was streaming DRG on YouTube, it was banned thirty minutes into the stream due to a jukebox song.

Today I played it again and around forty minutes in, banned again. Didn't play the jukebox at all this time - but - I did use the Blonde drink about ten minutes prior. I also was listening to the ambient music in the game on the station.

YouTube is getting really pissy now.

I think the best thing I read however is that Ghost Ship is not only trying to solve this, but they're able to just white-list your channel so you never have to deal with this problem again.

Unless I get on that list, I basically have to mute the music during my stay on the ship in stream heh. f**king hell, YouTube needs to get their shit together.

I’ll look at the whitelist once I get this baby off me. It’s obviously not something we can do for everyone, but it’s a start.

Yeah no problem Jacob, I never expect people to ever drop things on a whim for anyone.

I was trying to haggle with the YouTube team and they just kept pushing that idea of whitelisting people.

It's kind of annoying because it's like they're trying to divert their work load on other people. It ain't no-ones fault but YouTubes dang it.

Just checked it - it doesn't really work with whitelisting, as it is the one claiming the copyright that needs to whitelist, and it is not us. We're trying to weed out the songs that have their rights spread out all over the place, so if you can pinpoint what number triggered it, that would be awesome.

Okay yeah I did some snooping at my last stream that got booted, the only things I can see that may have done it were..

  • The Blonde drink.
  • The ambient music in the rig/station.

Now here's the weird part. When I tried to reboot the stream about five minutes after, they took it down again for inappropriate content (copyright stuff) - no strikes thank god. That time I was literally just in the chat with the ambient music from the ship in the background, nothing more.

You don’t get a notice of the copyright claim and the material in question? I know that’s standard for video you upload, so it seems weird that streams are left without that info.
