Many games have been being bought out by these conglomerates and it has always led to a drop in quality after it (hell let loose, insurgency sandstorm). I don’t know how long ago this has happened but do you think we may begin to see a drop in quality in the game

Coffee Stain is publishing Deep Rock Galactic, not making it. Both Coffee Stain and Ghost Ship are owned by Embracer, which is based in Sweden. So no, it never happened and it has no effect on anything.

From what we've heard from GSG, their owners are hands-off and don't micromanage content direction.

That has been their historical stance, but recently they've been less noble. A particularly notable quote, after firing 17,000 studio employees and cancelling a bunch of projects with "low expected return":

“We know we need to be exploiting Lord of the Rings in a very significant fashion, and turn that into one of the biggest gaming franchises in the world,” Karch said. “And that’s obviously something that we’re going to do be doing. That’s a much better use of resources than some of the other projects that some of our teams have been working on.”

I think DRG has established itself well enough as a profitable enterprise and development model, hopefully it's safe from too much upper level micromanagement.

You should probably re-check your source. If Embracer fired 17.000 people, they’d have 0 people. As to the other part, they’re still not micromanaging. What they are doing is looking at projects that are risky in regards to potential. I don’t know why people expected that they wouldn’t.

knowing this tho, i am interested what will happen when you guys decide to make a new IP, how will embracer handle that.

I doubt that’s going to be an issue. The current restructuring has an end date, and everything is still business as usual.
