[2020] Has the ability to make way points using the laser pointer been removed?

Before the 1.0 release the laser pointer had a function where left clicking and holding would set a personal waypoint on the map for the player to reference on the terrain scanner. So far I have not gotten it to work since release a week or so ago, was this an intentional change?
