I Joined a mission. everything went smoothly until i scanned the missing equipment and pointed this out in chat. I am a russian, and so whenever i see a [CLOSE] mark on a server, I assume that it is a russian server, since anything else is farther from me and has a [MEDIUM] mark. As soon as I typed "there's a skin" on russian, i got instantly banned by a host. Is there any reason why voting system (like in VALVe's multiplayer games for example) wouldn't be a good idea?

Voting only really works in games with more players per session. 2 players would be an instant tie, assuming you vote against getting kicked. 3 players would leave the second player as kingmaker, if they even vote. If they don’t, it’s a tie. 4 players could have have ties in a couple of situations, depending on whether all vote or not.
How to solve ties? Does the host tip the scale? Then we’ve added layers of complexity and not solved the issue. We’ll have a non-transparent voting system that needs to assign some sort of weight to the votes and it wouldn’t really work. For votes to function properly, you need a minimum of players to guarantee it makes sense.

Usually in games the player getting vote kicked doesn’t get a vote in their own kick. Meaning in a 4 player lobby there would never be a tie, it would be 3 for, 2 for 1 against or 1 for 2 against voting to kick the person

Assuming voting is only to kick. It could also be calling the droppod. Also assuming that all players would vote. If they don’t there can still be a tie. It would mean no kicking with two players only OR the power being returned to the host, but only in some cases. There’s a bunch of other issues too, so that’s not a solution. No system is without issues, but currently having the host decide is the simplest system with the least friction.

why have the guy vote for himself the other 3 should be the ones participating in a vote kick that will make it an odd number

Why shouldn’t the player being voted on get a say? You’re assuming that voting to kick someone will only be applicable towards people who are trolling. It might as well be trolls starting the vote. Regardless, voting on anything with few players is an issue on many other levels too. You can’t guarantee players will vote, either. It generally only works with a player count that’s high enough to make a decision with a proper majority.

The player in question could not be allowed to vote. Maybe to settle tiebreaker issues the vote has to be unanimous to kick.

It’s just moving the power from the host to a random non-transparent system that will change with the amount of players.
