Everything's going well
Maybe this one is easy
But that doesn't explain

The cave starts to shake
And a sound's getting louder
They barrel through walls
Turning rocks into powder
You spin up your chaingun
Your friend sets a turret

The numbers don't stop though
They seem to get bigger
You look for your Scout
You scream for your digger
You've finished the job
Now extraction's the focus
You've yet to stop shooting
They're swarming like locusts
The drop pod's surrounded
But you're able to break in
You turn to your friend
And you watch as he's taken
You sprint on in after
Set him free and revive
There's no way in hell
Only three will survive
You both make it back
And you've never felt greater
But as you step up, there it is
"Detonator!"
He's taken out quickly
But he's not quite done
Your shield supply's empty
The option? To run.
You both barrel past
And you cheer and you shout
The mission is over
You're on your way out
You walk up the ramp
You say "I got next round!"
As you sit in your seat
You watch him go down
He was just slightly slower
He was almost in time
He falls to the floor
And the doors fall in line
You feel so much guilt
And you're hit to your core
If you'd had one more shield
If you'd done one thing more
There's three of you now
Yet you feel so alone
But you know what he'd say
So you speak "...rock and stone"
