Hi everyone,

As some of you may know, yesterday marked the 2 Year Anniversary of this subreddit celebrating my Not-Birthday. That day meant a whole lot to me and was something I wanted to never forget.

Well now I can't ever forget it.

I decided that for the 2 year anniversary I would get this piece of artwork

tattooed on me. It was originally commissioned by my good friend and fellow mod, /u/aaron-il-mentor, back in 2017 and I finally got around to it.

For those who have no idea what any of this is about, you may find this link useful.

Shoutout to Cindy and the crew at Living Art Tattoo in Plymouth, UK for absolutely nailing exactly what I wanted. I know there's a good chance they'll see this because they legitimately recognised the design for what it was before I even got there and asked me "Are you anything to do with the Destiny subreddit?" as soon as I walked in the door, so thanks guys!

I hope you all won't mind, but I'd like to take a moment to thank you all for being part of this fantastic community.

This was the first subreddit I ever had any genuine interaction with, and it helped guide me through Vanilla Destiny 1, warts and all. This was where I learned about the Loot Cave, where I scoffed with everyone else the first time Gjallarhorn was sold ("Who'd waste an Exotic slot on a Heavy? Pffft.") and where I first started to realise just quite what an impact this game was going to have on me.

When I first joined the moderation team it was at a pretty tumultuous point in my life; I'd just graduated from University and the job hunt was getting to me in a bad way, facing constant rejections again and again as I trawled across hundreds of job listings. Thanks to the team, I had something else to focus on besides the rejections and building depression I was suffering from. By giving me an outlet that allowed me to feel like I was actually contributing to and accomplishing something, while welcoming me so warmly, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that my friends on the mod team changed my life for the better. We've played DnD together, I've been to gaming conventions with them, and some of my favourite gaming moments have been right alongside them. The mods of this subreddit are some of the best friends I've ever had (even if they did turn me into a living meme ಠ_ಠ).

Being a part of this community has allowed me to meet and interact with so many funny, creative and wonderful people, and I've been lucky enough to meet some of you in person, catching up with fellow redditors and people I've played Destiny with at EGX, Gamescom and beyond. Destiny has transcended what I thought video games could do, creating a sense of community I have never been a part of in any other game.

So thank you all, for being a part of this subreddit and the Destiny community at large. Bring on Shadowkeep, yo.
