It's now been 5 years since I first got to play Destiny, when the Open Beta for Xbox became available. Since that time I've been absolutely in love with the game, but also three things about the game specifically:

  1. Being a Hunter. I've never identified so much with a game character as I have my Hunter. The aesthetics, the play style, the lore; My Hunter is my favorite character from any video game, and I love that our Guardians can all be our own main characters.
  2. The music. From The Path to Journey, every track has been a huge part of why I appreciate this series as much as I do. Nothing can hold a candle to the swell of emotions I feel when hearing these nostalgic melodies.
  3. The lore. The way this universe is so artfully described and carefully tended to truly captures the same fascination I had with space as a child. And thanks to Destiny, I don't think I'll ever be able to think about space in quite the same way again.

So in total, I combined the Hunter symbol with the sacred geometry aesthetic from the Director/UI and, thanks to a graphic design degree and a healthy amount of perfectionism, I incorporated representations of 7 celestial bodies and 1 star for them all to orbit in a golden ratio, my own personal little Music of the Spheres.

Thank you very much Bungie, from the bottom of my heart. I'll be able to hold the memories of this game with me until I'm nothing but space dust.

You listen hard and carefully, and sometimes a lucid melody seems to rise out of random noise. Joy builds, and the first hope in ages transforms you. It seems important, even critical, to tell every star from here to the black between the galaxies that you will be strong again.

Thanks for the gold, Exo Stranger!
