Last night while I was farming 20 Nightfalls for the Oxygen SR3 my teammates and I noticed that most of the orbs we were generating weren’t counting as progress for the quest. After the strikes I went to go farm headshots and orbs in the Core Terminus Lost Sector in The Will of The Thousands Nightfall and I noticed a major glitch. The quest only tracks how many different times the message “You have generated X orbs of light” appears in the bottom left on the screen. So if you use a super that makes 6 orbs and then get kill with a weapon that generates one, the quest only counts that as 2 orbs created. This would also explain why it takes so long to complete the Iron Banner bounty where you need to generate orbs because of this same issue. Please try to create awareness of this glitch in hopes that /u/Cozmo23 and /u/dmg04 can see it and a fix can be addressed.
UPDATE: Just wanting to clarify a few things and point out a few comments I have gotten.
- Supers that generate Orbs multiple times are very viable. Nightstalker is great as it generates multiple orbs one at a time. Ursa Furiosa’s blocking seems to do the same thing.
- I HIGHLY suggest using Crimson or Huckleberry in these strikes as the automatically reload and make tons of orbs.
- If you have already grounded the 20 Strikes your best bet is to load up Will of The Thousands and farm the lost sector near the start as many thrall bunch up for you making it easy to get headshots and orbs.
Hope everyone doesn’t make the same mistakes I did. Good luck grinding out the gun! It’s really fun!
