First a little background, I'm at 5k glory and have embraced the competitive playlist as an arena to sharpen my skills. I've committed countless hours to learn each game type, every map, perfect aim and movement, and devise tactics and strategies to progress against the very best in the crucible. The carrot at the end of the stick is enticing and a powerful extrinsic motivator. However, with the Revelry, it feels all that effort is invalidated and the carrot is much further.

I'm sure people will just say adapt, use the buffs yourselves, or just don't play. Adapting to a sandbox change is one thing as the core mechanics remain relatively intact. The revelry completely changes to core experience of PVP.

Now onto the point of the post. I can't just not play as that would result in glory decay. For those unfamiliar, at mythic rank and higher failing to play 3 games per week results in losing glory. So now my choices are to play this version of competitive with a reduced skill gap and increased randomness in an already punishing point system or take 3 weeks off and lose a set amount of glory each week. It seems like a lose/lose.

I'd propose Bungie freeze glory decay if at all possible.

Thoughts?

I don't believe we have the ability to do this, but I can ask.

If we don't, there's potential for this to be something we add as a QOL feature for the future. Can't make a promise on that, but we'll make sure the team is aware.
