Yes I'm late to the party but at 32% on my heir apparent catalyst quest to kill things with an LMG in the daily focus playlist.
Played the last two days which were atrocious for the LMG kills when you relied on needing to get heavy brick spawns to LMG kill stuff. Crucible was like 2% per brick at best, and gambit meant I'd have to jack heavy to get 16 bullets on the waves while invader gets nothing = bad. Today would've been the strike day for easy completion, even shows the vanguard icon on the tower pillar but no focus is active
Even tho GG is still on for today there is no focus at all so it looks like 0% credit can be earned. Bungie telling me to get f*cked, no cat for you
EDIT - and before people claim GG is over, the official Bungie roadmap lists it as April 20 - May 11, ending tomorrow. Today it should still be active.

And the catalyst quest drop seems to be RNG from turning in medals? I have 11 GG triumphs completed before I got the quest to drop on Saturday.
EDIT 2 - Another thread has some forbes article saying the GG end as May 9th, but the official is on the Bungie site link above. Also on the twab it explicitly says the event ends May 11.
