50s This job intrigued me because it was painting a church.
53s They wanted something in a baroque style,
55s and the scale and the speed of it seemed a bit insane,
59s so I thought, "Let's give it a try."
62s And I asked him when he was on site, has he done anything like this before.
66s He said, "No, absolutely not. This is insane."
70s The art direction for Diablo IV is really rooted in this idea
74s of delivering on the fantasy of a dark, gothic, medieval world.
82s So when Adam called me up and he told me about this project,
85s I was like, "Wait. We're painting what? And how big?"
94s It's unlike ordinary realistic painting.
98s You have to go bigger and bolder.
101s I think the main goal was really to make something just epic in scale
106s and call back to a time of Michelangelo and da Vinci

113s that defined a generation of art,
115s and it's an honor to be associated with it.
