Interface

  • The Matchmaking menu has been renamed to Competitive
  • The Quickplay and Competitive menus have been adjusted with some size changes to the options
  • The options in Quickplay and Competitive can now be selected by clicking anywhere on the card, not just on the text
  • There have been improvements to the playback of the card animations of the Quickplay and Competitive options
  • The Custom Game’s player slots and drop down arrows now rescale correctly in lower resolutions
  • The Custom Game’s lobby name font size has been adjusted to match the rest of the options
  • The Custom Game now has disabled dropdowns for the people who aren’t the host
  • The More Settings’ Directional hints option checkbox now triggers a sound correctly

HUD

  • The HP and Armor bars’ segment lengths have been improved

Gameplay

  • In Brawl you now spawn with 125hp
  • In Brawl when a player dies they drop 25hp which is represented by a green orb effect - this 25hp does not give you health over your stable health value but can be grabbed if you have full hp and therefore denied from others
  • In Brawl weapons now respawn after 2 seconds
  • The Megashield powerup has been renamed to Vanguard and now makes you take 1/2 damage instead of 1/3
  • The Vanguard now drops on death and can be grabbed by other players
  • The Diabotical powerup (entity currently called doubledamage) now gives you 200% damage instead of 300%
  • When dropped the Diabotical and the Vanguard will now despawn after 30 seconds like weapons -the duration of the Powerups is 30 seconds but they keep their remaining duration after dropped: if a player grabs Diabotical and dies 1 second later, then whoever picks up the dropped Diabotical will have 29 seconds of Diabotical left, regardless of whether they pick it up right away or just before it’s about to despawn)
  • There is now an indicator that can be seen through walls over the Diabotical and the Vanguard when they spawn or are dropped to direct players to their location
  • Powerups first spawn at 2 minutes and then every 2 minutes after that - not dependent on when they were picked up, but powerups don’t spawn on top of each other if they were never grabbed by the time the next one is meant to spawn

Maps

  • ig_Egg-plant (ig_pr_01) and ig_stronghold (dt_ma_02) are not currently available in Brawl
  • b_wellspring’s pickup locations have been changed
  • b_chateau has been updated with the some pillars being removed making some area more open and the lava below mega has been removed
  • The official maps’ code names have been changed to their regular name preceded by their mode code. The Custom Game lobby has screenshots for the maps which can help you keep track but if you would like a list:
