It's an opt in system, fairly painless. Those of us with not so great rigs would like to be able to play Eco at its best! Just a thought.

The reason we can't currently support GeForce Now is that we cannot use Steam Cloud which is required for that support on Steam. Steam Cloud doesn't work with our savegames being dedicated server (worlds) and the size they go.

Aw that's too bad, but makes sense. I appreciate the answer! Any chance for better Steam Deck/Proton function?

Only been playing for a day and I'm loving it!

We don't support the client on linux, which is why Steamdeck doesn't run well. It works when using Windows on the Deck quite okay I heard, though.

However, a Linux version existed at the time and is still playable. Have you stopped its support?Linux support isn't a big deal but it would be nice if it ran correctly on Proton at least. The old versions ran correctly but I haven't been able to play since several versions.

We have never supported Linux clients, we provide the build as-is without warranty and support. Same for Mac. They get no active development, only occasional treatment.

See our official support list:

Support Status of Eco on different Operating Systems

Windows 10+ (64 Bit): Supported.

Windows 10+ (32 Bit): Supported until Update 9.6 - No longer supported or provided for later Updates.

Linux: Unsupported. Development builds available and provided as-is without warranty. We recommend to use Proton. (Server: Supported.)

Mac without M1: Unsupported. Development builds available and provided as-is without warranty.

Mac with M1: Unsupported. Development builds not working at all.

Steam Deck: Unsupported. Compatibility: Playable, no adjustments made. Windows: Works. Linux: Development build available and provided as-is without warranty.
