Hello all,

I'm new to Eco, but I have been following the development for a while. This may be an odd question, but I am playing on a solo world and I want to test out how the ecosystem works. I want to try to cause an extinction on this throw away world and play with population dynamics, but so far as a single player I have been unable to affect any significant change in populations, like an extinction. I started with Jaguars in the wetland ecosystem and I have tried hunting them, hunting them and the snapping turtles since thats their prey, and I have tried converting large amounts of the biome to farmland with a hoe, but only minor changes in population. So my question is, what is the best way to cause an extinction besides chopping down all the old growth redwoods?

Animals are currently broken insofar they all behave like rabbits ( ;) ), it's one of the things we want to tackle in the next major update.

Also, I'm not sure why this post was reported as "Not respectful"?

Maybe someone thought hunting to extinction, even in a video game, is not respectful.

That's not what the rules mean :D
