[2020] Is EVERY server out there based on socialism?

I'm at my wits end. I've played on 6 or 7 servers now. Nearly all of them trend towards socialist/communist societies. What is even the point of establishing a currency or setting up stores if everyone gives stuff away for free or expects you to do the same?

I know! I know! We all have to work together for the common good to destroy the meteor comrade! For mother Russia!

Capitalism is very much a valid strategy for progressing forward and destroying the meteor. But you have even one hippie dip out there that wants to give away free skill scrolls, and build roads for free, gosh dang it you ruin the fun for the rest of us that want to enjoy the pleasure that comes from owning a fake business and competing with others in order to build up capital and contribute in the way we see fit. Not all of us enjoy to just sit back and wait for the World Leader or the miners/smelters to push us forward.

I'm so friggin sick of seeing that the only people in the game that matter are the ones that become world leaders or push the higher tier professions. We all want to feel important. We all want to feel that we have some small piece of the direction that the society is going in. THIS for me is the reason so many people leave servers. The lie that if you donate your hard-worked for materials for the good of the server or sell them well below cost then you'll be recognized and appreciated. While others sit back and reap the rewards of your hard work because they have everything automated and don't have to spend calories to do it.
