[2022] Machinist table / shaper bug?

So when I put the shaper in the same room as the machinist table, it says it needs a machinist table for some of the recipes. i can fix this by deconstructing the machinist table and then putting it back, but then it says it needs the shaper for some recipes.

How do I get these two machines to know about each other?

It just a glitch, one of many small annoying glitches. That exist and most likely never get fixed.

Pick up the machines and replace. Or knock a hole in the wall, big enough to stop the room being a room. Then rebuild.

The fix is actually being worked on, it just wasn't ready for 9.5.1.
