For the past day the eco symbol has been popping up in the bottom right and growing leaves on a tree as if a save symbol. Every time it happens, the server I am on freezes in place and I can do anything but walk around. Is this a server issue or is my game breaking/have a corrupt file?

Interesting but why a quick relog fixes it then? Seems more like a de-sync.
Because the server terminates the connection and does no longer react until a new one is established.
