[2023] PS4 to PC (steam) transfer

This process has been a confusing one for me. Decided to get back into the game after getting a PC. Hadn't touched the game on PS4 since the discontinuation. I am transferring my PS4 account to PC through the Frontier account migration tool. It says to download the Frontier launcher to get a free base game version.

I was ready to buy the game + odyssey on steam as it is on sale right now. Is the frontier launcher the only way to get the free version of the base game?

Can I buy odyssey from steam and then combine it with the base game on the Frontier launcher?

Hey CMDR,

Just to be clear, the free license is added to your account granting you access to standalone ED.

If you want to play through Steam, you can claim a free Steam partner key for the base game from https://www.frontierstore.net/frontier_partnerkeys/

If you then wish to play Odyssey through Steam, you simply need to purchase Odyssey through the Steam store.
